This is going to hurt Republic in the staffing department however. The people who were angry enough to leave because of that TA have already left, and this is just one more reason for people to go elsewhere.
What would be really funny is if the union helped people fight this. (Every bit of leverage helps, and what says F you better than denying the company a cash payout)

Yeah, sure. Did they or did they not violate the cba? Answer is NO, they did not. Stop whining and uphold your end of the bargain.

That's why we have grievances; you not upholding your contract is a character issue and cannot be justified by playing he said she said.

In other related news, as shocked as I was when I learned about it, depending on your loan (I think) a bank can call you on your debt. In the example of the Chevy, you don't own the car, the bank does.

Now, everyone knows that pay protection is not day-per-day, its period of reassignment, unless, of course, Republic can screw you out of pay by claiming it's day-per-day; then it'll be day-per-day.

Right.
Before anyone believes that this is typical, I'll point out that out of 63 CHQ captains on July's award, 2, yes, two of them had 15 or more days off without the aid of some sort of leave.
26 had 13 or fewer days off. ....and don't forget that July is a 31-day month.
