I agree.

Saying new hires should stay away from a regional so that the current pilots could more easily get a better contract is tantamount to a mainline pilot saying that RAH pilots should go scope themselves on behalf of mainline pilots so that we could more easily get a better contract and not have to negotiate scope.

So go demand from RAH that you have limits on range, demand you park all jet aircraft and then limit seating to Dash 8-200 or less. Then that way Delta will have no other option then to let us fly the E-Jets and E145s and we'll demand higher pay for the wide bodies. If we do it from our end, geeish, it'll cost us a fortune. Do it for us.

Now before you laugh, know I ran into a CAL pilot who said this very thing once at the Applebees bar in Cleveland. He had a few and his friend had to pull him out. I'm not sure looking back if he was going to punch me or not and I was 23 and clueless as to what he was talking about. What's scope? Fun times.

That said, I do have a question. I had a buddy interview last week and I wanted to ask how long before you hear back yeah or nay on the job?

At least some people have common sense on this board!

It took a day or 2 for me to hear back but they originally said about a week.

If I remember correctly they said they'd call either way, so I wouldn't worry quite yet.

He should try to call and follow up. Sometimes they forget about you. They have a lot going on. BB and WH announced today on the Q3 earnings call that they plan on hiring 500 pilots next year and possibly more depending on attrition.

There also seemed to be a lot of focus on really getting a deal done before the end of this year. Now I hope our Union is smart enough to wait and see how the new rest rules affect us before settling on a contract. We already waited this long, we can keep waiting. Company needs a new contract and they are starting to get a little desperate.

Curious, what is RAH going to do with the C-series? I assumed it was for Frontier but they are now pretty much sold.
C series options stay.

Airbus NEO's go with F9.

It does, they haven't figured out what they are doing with it yet.
