I think that is because RJET wants us to sign on the line before Frontier-free quarterly financial reports start showing how much money the FFD side really makes.

Doesnt a plane that size violate everyones scope?
For now it does. As does the order for Skywest of the Embraers slated for 2020.

The manufacturers have already gone on record saying that they will assist in changing scope to fix those limits. They need the relief for the new weights of G2 Embraers and the like...

There are no free lunches. The plane will have no range (or no payload) if they are artificially held to a lower certificated gross weight.

The current specs on the E175-E2 call for almost 98,000 lbs MGW and an increase in the BOW by 11,000 lbs over the E175+ variant. Delta's current scope maxes out at 86,000lbs (89,000lbs for CPZ E175s). You are talking about having to leave behind more than 50% of your fuel to stay below Delta's scope. Or you remove passengers AND fuel to make it a gigantic 50-seat airplane with limited range.

For the smallest MRJ models, it might be a different story, but for the ERJ, there is really no alternative to revised scope

Delta is already limited to 76 seats anyways so they will be pulling seats no matter what.
