Training Timeline
Need some info from guys who've recently completed initial training or who are in "the know"

I'm an FO currently on mil leave (deployed) and am looking to come back to RAH around March. I will be on a new aircraft (former Q driver) and I have been gone long enough that I need the full up indoc all over again. I saw an email from HR saying the sim takes 10-12 weeks?!?! That's on top of the 8-10 days in IND for indoc and another week of systems. I don't remember this being the case. Can someone confirm this? Where is the sim for the 170? Do they send you home during gaps in training? I'm just concerned my wife will chop my balls off if I come home from several months deployed just to up and leave again for 12-14 weeks.

Thanks,

JM311

I started sims on Dec. 10th. My last sim event was Dec. 20th. Sims are in St. Louis. My complete training footprint from first day of indoc to final day of sims was Nov. 3rd thru Dec 20th. Some of my classmates had to wait longer for sims and won't be out until around Jan. 6th.

They provided positive space for some of the gaps in training for current employees. As a new hire, I didn't get positive space so I'm not certain which gaps met the criteria and which didn't. Most current employees would jumpseat home for anything two days off or more anyway.

Quote: What kind of luggage works bags do u get? The normal pilot bag? Stealth or something? How often do classes start? Usually on a Tuesday? Two weeks for indoc?
Luggageworks Stealth.

They ran four classes in November. I believe all the classes started on a Tuesday except those classes which were moved around for the Thanksgiving holiday. Indoc was ten days in Indy.

Expect about two/ two and a half months training time. Not counting IOE.

So if they start on a Tuesday and its 10 days do you work weekends? Or come back from day 10 after your second weekend?! Any gaps between indoc and sims lately?

You'll get your iPad within the first couple of days in Indy. They'll give you student access to our manuals at the same time.

Most of the training in Indy focused on SOP type stuff (about ten days). All the the systems and sim training is in STL.

Hotels provided during training at IND and STL have small kitchen built in to cook dinner and prep lunch? Or are there places to buy lunch near by the training center?

Also from reading previous replies, Systems/FMS are in STL flight safety. Is it taught by RAH instructors or Flight Safety Instructors?

Around how long does it take to get your badge and be cleared to jump seat?

Cheers!
