Republic after the contract

Chill out sensitive Sally. You work for a **** hole company, why are you so defensive? Get your time and try to GTFO ASAP. I have flown with prior Rjet pilots at my current airline and I'm shocked by how horrible their regional experience was compared to mine at XJT. I'm not saying XJT is amazing, and I wouldn't recommend anyone going there right now because it doesn't look like they will survive, but compared to Rjet it was night and day.
Apparently Rjet closes bases a lot. Does PIT look like a stable base for this guy? That should be the main factor in choosing to go there. Apparently their new contract is horrible for QOL if you commute there. Outstation basing and base closures can make life hell there.

Go talk about the company(s) that you HAVE worked for.

I do want to say that if you live in a city that you are tied to that has another regional I would consider that other regional. Republic does close bases more often than other airlines so it won't create a stable living environment. Also, with Republic cutting the number of aircraft deliveries combined with the number of lifers Republic has the list is going to stagnate a little (compared to other places). If your husband just needs to check the 121 box before he goes to a major then Republic might be a decent choice.
Just some food for thought.

I've heard that the slowdown is simply due to training capacity. Now that every regional is flying the Brazilian wonderjet, RAH no longer has a monopoly on all the sim slots.

Do you mean the pre-interview call to set up the interview date, or have they changed the interview process?
If you're referring to the phone call from HR after you submit the app, it's just verifying your information and setting a date for the in-person event.

Sounds like RPA may keep the Delta 50 seat flying. The Shuttle guys in my crash pad are saying a 145 vacancy should be announced soon, which should keep the upgrade below 4 years. I just don't get why they would announce a 20K bonus for the 145, when pilots are being allowed to bid off that airframe.

I think it's a fluid situation and relative to how many new hires come in the door. From what I understand, it sounds like when Delta unilaterally extended the CPA there was a clause for a rate renegotiation next May. My guess is that come May if we have enough bodies to staff the flying, we will keep it. If not, BB will come up with a ridiculous amount of money for Delta to keep it, and that will be the way to get out of the flying. For now it seems like there is no plan since there have been mass exodus bids off the plane and then the next month they're trying to restaff it again.
