This is how the bonus ($20k) for the E175 was broken down for us: (add an extra 5k for the Q400)

It’s based on experience. So depending on how many hours you have that can apply to a captain upgrade will determine your bonus.

The time that qualifies is:

Any 121 time
Part 135 PIC time with multi-engine and multi-crew
Military PIC (Commander) time with multi-engine and multi-crew

So if you calculate how many hours you have in these categories it will determine your bonus.

< 500 Hours you will receive $10,000 ($5,000 after OE and $5,000 18 months after OE)

500-749 Hours you will receive $15,000 ($10,000 after OE and $5,000 18 months after OE)

750+ Hours you will receive $20,000 ($15,000 after OE and $5,000 18 months after OE)

Thanks for clarifying, the company has made no communication of this at all to the pilot group.

There's no bonus when all the Jets illegally go to Skywest...

If there’s a commitment for managers to be open and honest then how come the IBT had to sue the company to show proof that they weren’t trying to give all of Horizons jet flying to competitor Skywest? Then after the ruling against to company they again had to be ordered by the judge to hand over the documents! Doesn’t seem too open and honest to me! Actions speak louder than words management!

Don't count on it. Getting scammed by air group is a right of passage for all pilots here.

Hahahaha. I am not expecting anything. It would just be a pleasant surprise if it did happen.

Count on QX: A new career pathway for Horizon pilots....

Posted by: (Captain Q400, PDX) - December 18 at 6:58 am

The "new and improved" Pilot Pathway is just another wrong turn. As with the "Guaranteed Interview" program, it holds Horizon pilots to a much higher standard than (for instance) Skywest pilots. So, we're supposed to hand over all of our training, atendance, and disciplinary records AND then interview again to find out if we're worthy of a job at Alaska? Wow.

As a general rule, I don't like flow-through programs. But, if we're going to have one, it needs to be a real flow through, not some half-baked scheme that treats our pilots like third-class citizens. Our pilots deserve better.

I find it hard to believe that our union approves of this agreement. I've been here long enough to see some of our pilots targeted for sick calls, fatigue calls, and union-related activities. There's no telling what kind of activity might be considered "disqualifying".

In the absence of any well-defined parameters for this program, it's likely to turn into a popularity contest. It sound more like a selection process for management and their buddies.

I wonder what the "meet and greet" style interview will consist of.

Someone's gonna have to be the guinea pig.

Just left this on the latest OYH ‘Count On QX’ posting...

JH, exactly how did the company use the IBT EXCO's cooperation in this new career pathway program? The EXCO has told us that not one of their suggestions were implemented or mentioned in your plan. How many absences will keep a potential pilot from being hired? What type of disciplinary items and how long ago does it have to have occurred before it would be overlooked? Two weeks ago you guys said that successfully passing an interview was part of being hired through this new career pathway program. It seems clear to me that Alaska is trying to create a perception that we have a real seniority based flow program in place, yet the reality is you guys could find or come up with any reason you wanted to keep a company or union 'trouble maker' out of Alaska, thereby continuing to handpick which Horizon pilots are able to be honored with the privilege of flying for a national carrier. Where is the transparency in the selection process for someone who is rejected? When it comes to enacting policies and benefits to make Horizon a leader in attracting new personnel, Alaska is always playing catch-up and trying to get away with doing as little as possible to get the job done. This new proposal seems to me, just another glaring example of this same corporate mindset.

Airlines with actual integrity and a lack of criminal business practices create legitimate flow programs, QX? We create ambiguous discrimination programs to trick people into thinking we do.
