Good morning. I am trying to get an accurate picture of the current time frame between CJO to class. I have been researching in this thread as well as others, but I could not find a recent answer.

Any recent hires care to share their approximate timeline for CJO email - class date email - actual class date? Thank you in advance. Cheers.

Quote: Good stuff! In this covid environment are you seeing a lot of DCA/BWI right now? Been contemplating jumping over to DCA.

For the 737, we have had very little DCA flying since Covid hit. BWI flying has picked up a little recently. But be forewarned - the DCA/BWI flights are not typically commutable since we exist to fly the early bank out and return at the last bank at the end of the night.

DCA 737 in general has been very stagnant since all the widebody flying went away. 756 is starting to come back and the 777 supposed to be back in Feb 2022. 787 is currently about 1/3 its former size with no announced growth. Until all that flying returns, DCA narrowbody will remain overmanned with limited opportunities for new hire entry.

My guess is that our overmanned narrowbodies will attrit as widebody pilots retrain this fall and that we will see some vacancies next spring.

Or maybe they announce 200 737 CA vacancies next month. Or completely close the base and let Mesa take over. The future will be somewhere between there.

Airbus guy here, been to Hawaii at least once or twice hundred times. (Just not while flying the Airbus)

Interview Prep
Due to my newbie status, I cannot start a new thread but as this relates to new hire classes hopefully will get some good feedback from those who have recently gone through the process.

To prepare for a UAL interview, did you utilise aviationinterviews.com ? RST? other services?

Thanks in advance.

Word on the street is that Cage Marshall is booked for months. Emerald Coast Interview Consulting has a good product but very little one-on-one other than 1hr telephone top offs. FAPA has a decent service. I'm not familiar with the other companies out there but the advice stands - some prep is better than no prep.

I do have friends that did not do any formal prep - they all got hired somewhere but not necessarily at their "dream job".

Currently awaiting a class date…interview invite the end of April, interviewed June 10th. Was fortunate enough to snag a slot with Cage, many weren’t quite as lucky. I have friends that prepped with other companies and got a CJO as well. I will second the statement that some prep is better than none.
