as an alumni I am glad this is behind you all now, it was a long run, I was hired way back when we were all CAL owned and left when SKY came in, I hope this heals the wounds and brings this thing forward!

Any idea when they’ll announce the 175’s for you guys?

"Official announcement", we don't know. But there have already been numerous communications from management, flight ops, and the union regarding the progress of getting the program running. Expecting an initial staffing bid by the end of the year, or latest early next year. United wants the first Xjet 175 in service April 2019, most likely ORD flying.

Thanks. No real reason for asking other than just being nosey.

It sorta seems like UAL is in no hurry to make the announcement. Since scope is maxed out, these planes will come at somebody else’s expense. The sooner they announce it, the sooner the other carrier has major attrition issues. Just look at what happened to ASA when they found out about the loss of the Delta contract.

And yet the longer they wait the more attrition there is at ExpressJet as pilots get frustrated and move on. You can only be told that good news is coming for so long and still believe it.

That’s what’s been happening at Endeavor for at least 5-6 years. They just keep cycling between 700’s and E175’s. Hiring for an announcement that may never happen. And now we’re over staffed and there’s a lot of frustration expressed by people on reserve. It’s taking twice as long for people to get off reserve and they’re not flying much.

And United (and all the airlines) did this to themselves. They spend decades exploiting the regional system and this is what they get.

I don’t think people are going to hang around much longer for them to get their act together.

Who would go on working here with these perpetually-imminent announcements much longer. Strange days.
