I won't make this another NJA versus airlines debate. But what I will say is that NJA is a job. I actually have fun flying for the airlines and enjoy that type of flying as a job and career. NJA flying can be rewarding too in terms of the actual flying but make absolutely no mistake, it is an arduous and demanding job. It is not a leisurely fun flying hobby that just happens to pay you. hey all, I am looking at jumping back into professional flying after a 2 year hiatus due to the pandemic. I have just shy of 2000s hours with about a 350 at 121 and 700 at another fractional. I was looking at applying to NJ but I was wondering if the fact that I haven't flown a jet in the past 2 years was going to be a problem. I have been doing some part-time instructing over the last several months to continue to stay current and up to date with my aviation knowledge (mainly doing instrument instruction), so it's not like I have been out of the cockpit altogether.
Would appreciate the input.

Reasonably quick. I Just attended the expo last week. I Submitted my application on a saturday, got a virtual interview request on Tuesday for about a week later. Got invited to the expo during the virtual interview, which was 3.5 weeks away. Received an offer 1 week after the expo, given a class date 2.5 weeks away. So from application submission to indoc will be 65 days. Could be more or less depending on when you submit in relation to the expo. I am already ATP rated, but on the logbook review form, the lowest option you can check is that you at least have your ATP written scheduled.

FYI - according to the latest bid, Delta’s most junior upgrade to 757/767 CAPTAIN is now only 4.5 months on the property!!!!! Brand new pilots. True, it would be NYC based, but that is nuts! How long is the upgrade now at Netjets - and onto what types?

The most junior PIC award from the last bid was a August 2016 hire and was awarded Phenom. We’re only 178 numbers from April 2021 hires.

How many hours of sim are typically allotted for NJA new hires? Do they allow new hires to show up to Indoc with 1475 hrs? Curious if it’s at all similar to the regionals hiring at 1475 and allowing 25 hours in the FFS.

Each fleet is different. Just for reference, if there are ten sim sessions for your type, each session is two hours, with two sessions per day. Not sure if types are required in left seat anymore, but you log 4 hours per day. Two as pilot flying, two as pilot monitoring. Ten sessions, as in my example, logs you 40 hours in type, as they are all level D sims.

I think you really want to check this with NJ hiring, as it’s entirely possible you must meet minimums BEFORE you start. I wouldn’t go by what some part-time, wannabe, keyboard warrior says in these forums.
