They recently forced pilots out of DTW and MSP. New hires won't be going there. Growth is coming on the AA side. At this point it'll go to our existing AA hubs, ORD, DFW, and PHX. IAH is getting larger also. (Is LAX getting any AA growth?)

FWIW, one of the rumors going around is that management isn't too happy with the low time upgrades, or some of the guys coming off the 175 and upgrading onto the CRJ. How that plays out with hiring I don't know.

What's the story with DEN? Who's growth is that? Continue?

I don't know what's going on with DEN. Presumably, that's all UA stuff.

Guys/gals with previous experience might be easier to train, however they also come with preset ways of doing things. Perhaps they will not be the perfect fit, some of the guys from ExpressJet/Compass/Trans state hated OO less than a year ago. To my knowledge soft landings will be in place once the MOAs expire, so saving a few thousand dollars on ATP-CTP in order to pay 10 year CA pay to a former 121 guy might not be the best financial way to go...

oh yea I completely understand.
but I promise most of us junior xjetters are removed from any xjt/skw drama.

Definetely heard enough about it not to care. I’d gladly wear a skw uniform along with many of my former collegues.
as for being set in our ways as the other post stated....I mean we have no choice but to adapt and perform the way our new company wants.

Quote: Why? It’s the same exact training footprint no? If they make them all get CTP own their own at least. Seriously don’t understand the CFI hate. And the cadets who demonstrated interest in the company for years are supposed to get bumped by someone who just needs a job now? They all worked hard too. Were the CFIs supposed to know a once in a decade crash was coming and buy their ATP when they were being handed out? I seriously don’t understand the hate on people who didn’t have the benefit to be as far along as others when it all hit the fan. Get over yourselves, you’re not a god with a 145 type.

You got WAY too offended here buddy. Read carefully. It makes financial sense to have someone with an ATP in hand and a previous type rating because they’ve already proven to be trainable in a 121 environment.

Domino, dear Domino, I'm sure you are not a bad guy after all, I mean it, but you got old long time ago. First it was 40%, then 50%? 70%? of the pilot group getting laid off? NOT ONE PERSON got laid off at SKW, then US economy going to hell and back, twice. Now recession, next month zombie attack. Why instead of being a negative, 99.9% of the time wrong person, you start being either optimistic or AT LEAST helpful, and you share something positive, something that you actually learned and made you a better pilot or helped you out at some point. Think about it.

Well, there were HQ office staff that were let go.

Careful, you’ll offend captive apple’s delicate feelings with talk like that.
