Quote: CAM, the ATSG subsidiary that does aircraft leasing, stands for "Cargo Aircraft Management". They're in the business of buying 767s, converting them for cargo use, and then leasing them. So in all likelihood, that was not a CAM aircraft.
Well, excuse me ! I have some flights in ex Qantas birds in my logbook (N317CM, N362CM) that ATSG/CAM had the good sense to lease to ABX during at least some of my career there. I must have mixed up West Jet with some other bottom feeder up north that I vaguely recall ABX doing some sort of equipment swap with, among several others.

have a friend there that said they are still negotiating the 767 pay.
no word on schedules. Aloha currently does 14 days ON and 3 rsv days for everyone with a 28 period.

Aloha already has a training program for the 767,pilots already in training.

My friend thinks people are waiting to see what the pay and schedule looks like before they decide to bid for the 767

Their training program is really irrelevant. There will never be a 767 flown on the Aloha certificate. Any 767 pilots will have to be trained on the NAC certificate before they fly. Anyone hired at Aloha will eventually be a NAC pilot.

So if you are trying to say all the pilots already trained on 767 at Aloha will have to re-train under NAC certificate., dont think so. I worked at a place that had 2 certificates. When they moved my fleet to the other cert, we just had to take a 2 day differences class.
Since Aloha already has an appoved 767 training program. Most likely they will just take that program and put it under NAC.

Aloha DOES NOT have an approved 767 training program. They are sending guys to Boeing training to get typed, but they will still have to do the company training once it gets approved. The head dispatcher that was point man on ETOPS just left for Hawaiian. This merger has been handled very poorly by NAS management and contract negotiations are moving very slowly. I don't expect the 767 to be flying any time this year.

word on the coconut network...
The app for merging certificates and ETOPS was given to the FAA.

First 767 shows up in HNL on Nov 1,
will be flown by ATSG crews untill FAA approves certificate.
Management thinks it will happen by Jan.

Contract talks continue, but if they don't settle on something by Nov 20 it will go to expedited mediation. either way, there will be a new contract by end of Jan.

Anyone know what the schedule looks like? Trying to figure out if given an offer if I can commute from the west coast until I find a home to buy or if I'll need to rent for a bit. Commuting would be short term.

Your ETOPS was disapproved by the FAA. NAC is feeding you a line of ****.

And what dog do you have in this fight, exactly? Folks at NAC are well aware of the shortcomings of our management. We certainly don't need you to tell us. I'm not sure why you think its any concern of yours.

And if you think we're a bunch of wide-eyed sycophants lining up to fly wide-bodies for ATI pay, you're sorely mistaken. Most of us have no desire to fly outside Alaska, but if we do, it won't be for bottom of the barrel wages.

Motorclutch does not work for ATI.
