Quote: Is TravelNet inaccessible for others or is it just me?
Travelnet is working for me but no luck with "self service" site. Bank says a payroll deposit was made but it's a little light. Anyone else unable to access it?
Opening an Incognito tab in Chrome does the trick every time. But it’s still a ridiculous hoop to have to jump through. I’m kinda surprised DeltaNet doesn’t require punch cards to use.
Quote: If you can't hold holidays off and that's your priority bid somewhere where you can get it off ofr with the movement we are having stay in your seat for a year or two.
And ok, us junior pilots out West should all commute transcon NYC NB so we can spend holidays with our children. How dare we consider reducing 2x-->1.5x pay on holidays for the traditionally empty nester/no kid crowd who skew the RSV avail formula yet fully desire to work. The "families who want Mommy/Daddy home" crowd need to stop selfishly stagnating on the bottom of lists and take advantage of our industry leading base changing AE process, right?

Quote: We have much bigger fish to fry like health insurance, Deadheading..
Why is Deadheading more priority than Holidays? Using your logic, if you don't like DHs, bid to a category/base where your seniority allows you to avoid DHs. Let's not waste capital on DHs, when we need to focus on Holiday pay.

Quote: I'm against holiday pay because of the Greenslip system. We have much bigger fish to fry...then worrying about holidays where alot of pilots are already being paid 200%.
I mean, what's the point of Holidays anyway? Why do most industries give the day off? Or those who cannot, pay at a premium? Answer: because it's understood that it's important to respect spending time with loved ones over religious/national dates of significance. Those who must work get paid a premium because they should be home, and it's treated like overtime. Why then, is our PWA treated as if Holidays are meaningless for pilots and their families? And further, why should we retain language that incentivizes those who don't care to bid it off, while those who do care can be forced to work, and without any premium. The current spirit of holiday policy is upside down. There are only a few days a year that most people universally want off, but let's craft policy surrounding these days to ensure those who want it off are less able to do so? The PWA should be ammended to respect those who value their time on holidays, just like our peers in nearly every job field.
I think JB is hiring.

Were u aware ther was no holiday pay at delta?

Dont we have to sign the paper that says i accept this job comes with weekend holiday variable work hours etc.... etc...etc?

Seems if holidays are that important....one wouldnt choose a job that runs 356 days and has 100% chance of travel.

Things are moving fast. You soon will be able to have an ideal holiday schedule

What a ridiculous argument. Are you all for status quo or just preserving you’re holiday GS’s that you can’t always count on?

So the newest 1/3 of the pilot group shouldn't push for improved retirement, improved healthcare, vacation either? Don't dare ask for a payrate increase, cuz you knew what it was when you took the job with Delta, right? If you want a 60%FAE I hear FDX is hiring...just hop on over.

Or...let's just use the corporate slogan: "Keep Climbing". Let's make our PWA better. I'd like to improve QOL by instituting holiday pay for those who work a holiday. Makes sense for everyone but a select few in each base who can bid it off with no intention of really being off.
If we are examining ridiculous arguments start with the expressed sanctity of family time on holidays that some how is then quantified in dollars and cents.

If you dont want to work holidays and weekends....get a plan to bid to a base and category wher you can most quickly make that happen.

If your view is working holidays is a qol hit....because of the invaluable lost family time...how does getting paid more fix that? You are still away from family.

So to 'fix' your qol problem.. we either force delta to not operate on holidays....not likely.

Or you adjust your personal situation to minimize your exposure to holiday work.

Oh...and fyi... fdx doesnt have a 60% fae pension.

Nah I'd prefer we just change the PWA.

Have you considered just bidding for a holiday trip for 150%, instead of bidding off and crossing fingers for 200%?

Ahh. I see. So its not really about missed sacred family time is it?
Quote: Ahh. I see. So its not really about missed sacred family time is it?
Of course it is. Incentivizing senior pilots who could otherwise bid off the holiday, but have no need to, to fly over the holiday. This then frees up more pilots on the list who want the sacrosanct Christmas morning with their children to not have a forced coverage award. Those who are still too Jr at least get a pay override. Net result is increased happy pilots, less sad children. Only unhappy folks are those greedy Ebenezer Scrouge 5% of pilots banking on a GS and ****ed that Jr pilot Bob Cratchett gets the day off with Tiny Tim.
