Quote: Over all Weber/Morgan schools are fair. Low ACT test scores school wide. In fact only avg 3 to 5 kids over 30 on ACT per class. With that said. Both my kids had 33's on ACT and 2250ish on SAT. and we're excepted to various top 50 colleges nationwide. They attended Weber schools for 7 years, and are doing fine at their respective universities. Not sure if it helps but that is my 2 cents. PM me for more info

DTW question.
Just got the CJO a few weeks ago. We are renting in Birmingham and want to buy. Probably can't afford a great place in Birmingham, so we're looking at Royal Oak, Bloomfield, Rochester. Have a couple kids coming up on school age.
Any DTW folks with recommendations?

Quote: Greetings,
Going to move to either SEA or SLC and looking to see where the best places were for high schools in either place. Looking primarily in Bothell/Kirkland/Issaquah on the Northeast side of Seattle, Gig Harbor/University Place to the south.

As for SLC, I have heard Draper and Park City are nice.

Thoughts from this most wise peanut gallery?

PM me if you have ideas. Cheers.
Well, I don't think you can go wrong with Bothell, Kirkland, Issaquah, Gig Harbor, or Bellevue. I don't know about Seattle itself. I live in Bellevue and my kids went to Bellevue High School. A lot of guys live down in Gig Harbor and really like it down there. But if you do, be prepared to pay the toll on the Narrows Bridge every commute. If you don't mind driving an hour or two to work, there are many, many places further out that are wonderful places to live such as Oak Harbor, Anacortes, Olympia, Bellingham etc. that also have great schools. If you decide on Seattle and the Eastside of Lake Washington, let me know and I can get you in touch with a realtor friend of mine. Good luck with your decision!!

I live in Anacortes and love it. Small town, ferry terminal to San Juan Islands and Victoria. No kids but friends have no complaints about schools. If military, 20 minutes to NAS Whidbey. 20 min drive to big brand stores (Best Buy, Home Depot, Costco, etc.) Same drive time to either Seattle or Vancouver BC. Downside is drive can range from 1:35 to 3:00 to employee parking, avg 2:00. There's also an airport shuttle that runs down to SEATAC all day long if you don't want to deal with the drive.

Moved to South Lyon about 2 years ago. The city has grown in the last year. 45 minute drive and excellent schools. It is a way from where you are now but if you don't mind the distance from Detroit downtown it is a great place to live. I know several other pilots who live in south Lyon and love it.

Check out Ann Arbor, Saline, Dexter too.

FTS, would you sit short call from Anacortes?
