Quote: For anyone looking for a "typical" new guy schedule: I was number 51 out of 51 eligible to bid in HSV this month for 47 published lines. I got my 40th choice out of 47 lines. I was awarded a 60 day line that looks like this: 14 on/14 off/9 on/5 off/11 on/8 off. I'm actually very happy with that and the bidding seniority only goes up from here.
kme--thanks for sharing! Can anyone speak to NY area lines for a new hire?

Easy enough - you won't hold JFK in either airplane as a new hire.

National 747 down in Bagram
I am sure it will be posted elsewhere but thought I would pass the word here too. https://twitter.com/RAM4REZ/status/3...108481/photo/1 wbn: BREAKING -- Civilian cargo plane crashes at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, coalition says.

Absolutely horrible! The area north of Bagram is pretty rugged, I was there when an IL-76 drove right into the mountains trying to get out of that bowl.

We just lost an MC-12 two days ago near Kandahar as well.

God speed, blue skies and constant tailwinds to our aviation brethren.

Rumored to be a possible load shift/stall scenario.

Right now, the new hire have been placed mostly in ANC, and CVG on the 747. The last several classes on the 767 have all been placed in CVG.

Some of the 747 new hires have been able to bid out of ANC to CVG and HSV by the time they finish simulators and before OE.
