Honestly, I could not care less. Its the same mentality of the "We sat on the runway for 3 hours..................................." I just smile and move on, its just not worth it.

Update 4/23/13

Atlas Air is no longer accepting resumes for First Officer positions. Atlas Air does expect the resume acceptance window will re-open later in the year. Please check this posting regularly for updates.

From the website.

I thought that hiring was supposed to continue for most of this year. Anyone know what the current hiring plans are - I mean this afternoons- to be changed twice by tomorrow morning!

Well, guess I don't have to bother with sending in a resume/PAQ for May. Glad I got the April one in before the window closed.

I'm going to take a guess that there is a "didn't" missing in that comment since I frequently get asked by new acquaintances if I am a "commercial" pilot or if I fly freight, i.e. a "real pilot" versus a freight dog.
Correct...thanks for the catch and clarification.

(And thanks to EVERYONE who has contributed to this epic thread. It's amazing we're 611 pages in and still on topic with minimal to no sniping going on. Says something about the folks here... Delta aside. :-) )
Good point....Now back to those Delta pilots

Talked with someone I would consider a good source for hiring information. I was told upper managers that are normally involved with hiring will be "in meetings" on and off over the next few weeks and unavailable for interviews. This person believed interviews and classes would start back up by June.

For those of you disheartened, JohnnyKnoxville's info would certainly qualify as "hiring for most of the year", right? Common guys, that's the glass-half-full attitude...

BTW, I've made a career out of flying "rubber dog-$hit out of Hong Kong"...and I don't regret one moment of it.

LOL! When I used to instruct, the assistant chief instructor offered a crash course in aviation to the local media. No takers. They like their ignorance. "The aircraft was a late model Cessna twin-engine Pitts Special".
