Quote: I wouldnt think the same applies here...neither XJ or 9L were in bankruptcy, and both have airframes (I.e. 900 and Q400) that are desirable right now to mainline, so both were technically in a somewhat stable longterm situations. Delta sold XJ to Corp without any choice in the matter, considering OO wanted to purchase XJ... same with Compass...F9 had a option to be bought by SWA...Not to mention two different unions...I don't see any similarities
With Delta parking the Saabs, and no agreement with USAir on their own, Mesaba was looking at downsizing and furloughing more.

The fact that Mesaba was sold to Pinnacle was a windfall for XJ pilots.

Sadly I am afraid, that just like every single other SLI in history, this will result in one pilot group pitted against another. Frankly it is impossible to do a SLI that is completely fair to everyone involved. It cannot be done. Good luck to all involved, I have friends still at Mesaba.

I don't think so. I think eventually/gradually everyone will come together, especially if there is expansion/growth/new opportunities borne of the merger. I have a feeling there will be significant growth on the Q once we get this mess sorted out.

The only scenario in which there would not be eventual unity is if the pcl proposal is adopted.

I understand from an email from our committee that 9E proposed a status and category merge. I have asked a few guys on the line and no one can give me a straight answer. Can anyone explain what this would mean? I'm probably late to the party and it probably doesn't matter anymore and I understand DOH and relative, but what is a status and category merge? Are we talking about current seat, current airplane? Can anyone explain?

Hey I know, lets pointlessly speculate. We never do that and it's so productive.

Would you say the same for the former NWA guys or the current Airtran guys...

Using your logic, I would argue the fact that we brought a respectable concessionary contract and the best safety record to the table gave 9E pilots a windfall...good thing I don't use your logic though...

One could argue that you brought a pilot group that is excess 200+ pilots as all but 7 saabs leave the property. These future potential furloughs will fall on the shoulders of new hires at Colgan and Pinnacle who did not have the career expectation of being furloughed. Just making a point to your counter point to his point. You can see why this is in arbitration, it's complicated.

6 or so more days, stay strong folks.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be

Pinnacle's statuses were basically jet captain, jet fo, prop captain, prop fo, in that order. Hence why the most senior Colgan pilot was so far down the list.
