They MAY put you in the 300 for your height. They may have learned their lesson with previous mistakes of putting 6+ footers into the X only having to send them to 300 school.

Saw on flightaware today a flight from Anchorage to BFI- so they do occasionally get to AK.. cool!
And I've seen some flights to Hawaii; but otherwise mostly domestic.

Does XO ever go to Europe or elsewhere? Obviously the plane has the range. But I know international means permits/paperwork, etc. So if somebody asks to charter a jet to London or Sydney or Tokyo or Paris or whatever, will they do it or politely direct them to another charter company?

XOJET flies to Hawaii often, as well as Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and other parts of Central America. Use to do some flying to Europe, but now that stuff is brokered to another partner. As you mentioned there are occasional flights to AK, but it's not a frequent destination.

Is the current upgrade time honestly one to 1 1/2 years? Anyone have any first-hand knowledge of recent upgrades?

Maybe. Depends Airframe and amount of peeps leaving. I'm in Challenger and was told 18 months when hired in November

Any XO pilots who used to be 121 on here? I know everyone's situation is different, but I'm still interested: what are the pros/cons of 121 vs 135?
I'd hate to lose the travel benefits of 121, but seems like 135 has its own set of pros and cons, too....

I was. Travel benefits were nice...when it worked out. Been here almost a year and have accrued enough points for airline tickets and hotel stays I don't miss the benefits. That being said I was at a non wholly owned regional where we were always bottom of the list crap barrel for stby. Plus I have a family so even more stressful doing stby. I do miss the Jumpseat but again I didn't use it that much as I didn't travel a lot due to family and little one at home. Now having travel bens as legacy pilot prolly little different story. So pros you keep all the hotel, airline, credit card points. Stay in pretty nice hotels almost always, and will eat better than you ever did at the regionals. Home based. I would say it's all PROS over a regional. Comparing it to a Major their tons of pros/cons and more than I want to tap on my iPad, but you could figure those out.

Doesn't xo do 8/6? Talked to a guy and he said it is always first flight out of base (5 or 6 am) and last flight home on day 8.


1 week of vacation a year until 5 years, no trip trades etc.?--there has to be better quality of life options than that.

I agree most regionals are horrible and certainly not career places.
