Five day trips under part 117 may be productive enough to make it work for some commuters. But if they are worth anything less than 25 hours, I doubt it.
So sfo is a very short reserve. How many 5 or 4 day trips out of Sfo.

I live in Sfo so that would be perfect for me but I am dreading reserve, you to fly for mesa and I was on ready reserve 4 times a week. And when I had am reserve they would automatically move me around and give me pm reserve
Quote: SFO, MSP, SLC, ORD, and DEN are the bases I know of that have minimal to no reserves.
If this is the case* why don't they give new hires when they start class a choice of domiciles first before an assigning or choosing an airframe? Seems like they would/should want to cover as many trips or have enough reserves regardless of aircraft. (*disclaimer, I am interested in a SFO base, with the idea it is better to be on reserve where you live than to commute to reserve or a line)

SFO could indeed use more FO's, but the need is much higher in ORD and MSP hence the reason why new hires are going there. You'll hold a line in Minny almost immediately and should get back to SFO within a few months.
Sfo is possible, 175 best choice there, crj it's a senior base for a lot of the seniority list, especially since bro ppl were based there. Msp and ord to a lesser extent is junior and stays that way because most people are just biding their time to gain seniority somewhere else. DEN on 175 for FOs will be junior at first then potentially gaining seniority, by that I mean 2-3 year FOs as 4 year FOs are upgrading in other bases.
Quote: Any thoughts on IAH as a base yourself personally?
IAH is horrid. Horrid horrid horrid. Everything from the airport to the city. The flying is great tho.

However, I know several people who love it. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Correct. Everyone transferring out of ORD is killing us. Which has caused them to meter it down a bit
Any reason why the former Brasilia people in SFO staying in SFO go to the CRJ instead of the E175? How may EMB120 crews were in SFO?

What about Den and SLC. Heard good things about those places.
I got SFO out of training in the last award. Who wants to touch me?
