MT said they are working out final details to swap the 700s for 175s for Alaska

I'm guessing that since only the first year guys were getting any meaningful raise, you're a new hire. Otherwise the 50 cent for FO's and a dollar for Captains doesn't work out too much.

But any way it's only been a week since it was voted down, so if you're looking for miracles I suggest you apply to disneyland.

And if you are a new hire and were looking forward to the big raise, I voted NO within seconds of the polls opening and I talked to everybody I could find and told them how the pay package was pure garbage.

So too bad, I'm certain I have been at SkyWest longer than you have and I'm holding out for something for all of the pilots, not just the carrot to bring on a bunch of entitled morons that have no idea of what they are doing.

That's how adults negotiate.

You can do it to yourself, but they can't do it to you.

heh ok well like i asked in my question but ill rephrase like an adult apparently

have you or anyone submitted a counter offer?
do you know what you would want to see for a realistic pay increase?
im not quite sure why it was garbage, skywest pay rates are pretty much the best in terms of regionals ( so if you dont want regional pay rates then move on ) and what would be the harm in giving your fellow first year entitled POS's apparently a living wage first year?

Entitled morons? I have applied and I have an upcoming interview. Is this the welcome wagon I can expect?

I really need a 1st year pay increase, as does everyone, but not without others getting the equivalent hourly increase, among other factors. Now that was voted down what can the pilots do? How often do the two groups meet? Can the pilots call a meeting and present what they want, or is it metered out by a meeting once a month, or is it when the company decides to meet? Do they even meet? Is it all via email-web?

Haha! This is the million dollar question!

It's basically completely at the discretion of the company how often they want to meet. They've definitely dragged their feet out on this last round. That's why it took so long.

My prediction is a similar offer 1-2 years down the road with 1 dollar per FOs and 2 dollars per captain with no profit sharing.

Since we are non unionized contract talks here don't mean much.

^^^^ This guy gets it. Sure Chazbird would like more money but doesn't think it's fair to screw over everyone else to get it. And no, not everyone will assume you are like SP since you obviously put some thought into how voting in a ****ty first year bump would effect your fellow pilots.

^^^^^ This guy doesn't get it. Trust me SP, you have way more to worry about than a couple extra dollars. You have said yourself that you don't see what the big deal about being notified via EFB is. I can only praise (insert deity here) that you weren't able to vote. You know what will get a first year pay increase the fastest?? No going to a place that doesn't have one. Since you obviously didn't want to go that route, let me throw away my future so you can not live with rats. If you wanted a livable first year wage, go to the places offering signing bonuses and $20k extra per year.

I'll make sure to let everyone I know that if you don't want to be treated like **** working for a regional, you should just apply to a major and leave. It is just that easy. Word of advice before you hit the line. Make sure you don't say that to some of your CA that have been applying to majors and not getting the call. Because you know what? They somehow managed to live with the rats on their first year pay. I'm not saying that first year pay doesn't need to go up. But this group already tried to "take one for the team" last round and it didn't work out to well for everyone. Maybe you should have done Republic instead, since they have been in negotiations for 8 years, I'm sure their TA is just around the corner.

heh so check..

the same people who voted down a pay increase know that

1. another offer will not come by for a few years thus helping nobody
2. the pay increase for them was not much but for 1st year FO's it would have helped allot but they dont care about them because drumroll please
3. FO's are entitled morons?

sounds about logical.

** still waiting for an answer to my question.. Did anyone propose a counter offer? If you told people to vote NO did you have some suggestions as to why and what ?

Pay is not the problem at Skywest, comparably speaking. It is a problem as a professional, but compared to our peers it's slightly above the median.

The bigger issue is the QOL adjustments that will not be made until United, DAL, AA, & AS start seeing reliability hurting their feed. The only leverage we will ever have as a Regional Pilot Group (by that I mean all of us: OO, PSA, EV, etc.) is the leverage of reliability. Thus far, it has not been an issue and given certain reports I've read (Rand Report. Thanks CCB), there will not be an impact felt at the regional level for a year or two yet.

I understand what Soakingpilot wants and I understand why. We have all tried to live on 1st year pay and it is miserable. $37 is not any better. But a 4 year locked-in payrate with zero QOL improvements is a non-starter.

Not sure of the right answer.
