Quote: MatchPoint,

You're a pilot. Not an airline CEO. Getting industry predictions from you is like listening to JA explain adverse yaw.
You probably worked all night to come up with that one. BTW, I'd stack my 2 business degrees and years of prior experience against your Dixie College associates degree anyday. Hell a 10 year old can see the facts surrounding the subcontractor industry better than you.....

Also, why are you trolling these boards if you’re not a pilot? & if you're not a pilot and you spend you time here then that's just sad......
Quote: Sure you do. You defend management and crew support practices a lot. The SFO construction is one good example. The reason the pilots pull out the pitchforks on you on this forum is because sitting at your desk in SGU you clearly don't understand what yours or AS's decisions do to pilots QOL.

Pilots don't complain about crew support just to complain. They seriously make some crappy decisions that screw with our quality of life especially on reserve and somehow people like you think it's all OK.
So NVUS is a desk jockey in SGU...... makes sense......
Quote: Not a troll. I see where things are headed by watching where things are headed. SkyWest has on many occasions recently come right out and said they want to shrink to be a smaller company. Not just on the Xjet side, but within the whole 'enterprise', as they put it. You might be new over there, so everything still feels fresh, but after a while you will see the frustration evident in the company because they haven't been able to win any new contracts in quite a while and the "quality reputation" they had when I was hired 10 years ago is gone. That's evident with all of these changes going on in top management.

There are many changes coming. Some good, some bad. The other regionals are biting hard and with the upgrade times being much shorter at many regionals now, SkyWest could have a very difficult retaining and attracting pilots, adding to it's woes.

Time will tell, but it's not going to be plain sailing no matter what announcements are coming.
okay, fine, not a troll. Apologies, most people who post stuff like that are trying to get a rise out of people.

I'm curious to hear where you get your numbers. You are suggesting that SkyWest Airlines (not skywest inc) is going to shrink by almost 50%. PRetty serious accusation!
^ Lets be honest... No one in SGU will let SKW shrink. They will pull from other sides... Until the "other" side is small and merge us all...

And you're now a highly touted Delta pilot slumming it on the regional boards and casting your aspersions about the future of SkyWest Airlines in order to emasculate the hopes of the unfortunate souls so helplessly trapped in a stagnant airline with no seat movement...for your own personal sadistic entertainment? Cool story, bro.

I'll have your crow ready for you.
Quote: BOOM!!!!!!!!
How many times did you fail checkride at Mesa?

He is not at Delta... He gives us hope that scope will not be given away again and that flying could be brought back to mainline so us PILOTS have a chance to move on. Besides there is seat movement FINALLY, albeit slower than desired for some of us.

No need to apologize Crazy Canuck. I understand you. I don't know if you could call my numbers accusations more than rough projections. And I'm not even trying to suggest I'm right. But I certainly have talked to people in SGU who allude to the fact that they want to shrink. Combine that with a lack of demand for 50 seat RJs, the EMB 120 fading out, bigger e175s arriving but not going to SkyWest like they had hoped, a tough time finding pilots in the future, UA actively looking for used 19 320s or 737s to take back regional flying similar to DL and their 717s...and it just doesn't look as bright as it did 8/9years ago. SkyWest could well boost their ProRate flying to mitigate the reduction, but I think a reduction is coming one way or the other. Attrition could make it a wash. We will see.

Either way, you will enjoy your time there.

Not at Delta but he did give an indication of what airline he is flying for. I have always found MatchPoint's post well thought out when he was working for SkyWest and glad to hear that scope relief for a couple bucks won't be a yes vote now that he is a mainline pilot.

You have to understand that some pilots want industry improvement. Sure they want Sky West to do well, but contracts that are being awarded indicate that mainline partners would rather make more money then award a contract to a senior based airline. Sky West could make some pretty easy changes that would improve pilot QOL, but since that's not the "way we have always done it" they get pushed back. Maybe this little shake up will be some fresh ideas in at mecca. We are going to need everything we can get with other airlines anticipating 2 year upgrades to hire and retain pilots.

I hope you are right NVUS. I like working for Sky West and I hope there are good things on the horizon for us. All I know is that this is not the company I worked so hard to get to, and I have seen a gradual decline in my 8 years here. Since I didn't work here when things were really good, it will make it that much easier when I leave for mainline.

Man you're stretching. lol

I don't work for Delta and if you've read any of my postings you’d know who I fly for. But that's alright, it's only one of the many errors you've made. Regardless, allow me to spell out why no one here puts any stock in anything you've posted……. If you do work at headquarters in SGU as you claim then you’re not the brightest bulb in the box. No one with half a brain who works in the same building as upper Mgmt. would post the crap on these forums you’ve been posting. No one with career expectations higher than janitor would spout off on public forums about corporate details that should remain in SGU. Even if you’re not giving details the SEC would frown upon you’re still stoking the flames and playing with fire which shows very poor judgment. These traits that you possess are not trustworthy therefor not promotable and although you’re hiding behind a screen name that doesn’t mean you’re not leaving a trail others can track. You think you’re bright but just the shear fact that you’re here posting on pilot forums says otherwise. What is it? Do you dream at night of being a pilot.... being accepted by the cool kids? Is that why you come on here? lol.....

As for slumming it? No, lol, SkyWest pilots are my friends and even thought I no longer fly there they’re still my brothers and sisters. See there's a bond among pilots, its a bond created from navigating the same rough seas just from different vessels. We do what we can when we can to help each other move on to bigger and better ships. Even if we disagree at times this bond survives. That’s something you could NEVER understand. I'll clue you in on another fact of pilot life my friends here would agree with me on.... leaving my Captain seat at SkyWest and getting out of the way so my fellow pilots can move up in order to move on isn’t the only thing I can do to help them. I need to work hard to help preserve their future mainline jobs, and this means restricting scope in order to bring the flying back in house. By doing so I help protect Jobs that pay twice as much over a career than a job at SkyWest not to mention 3 TIMES more in retirement plus better job security. Now you probably think I'm attempting to put them out of a job but that once again shows you have no clue what you're talking about.
