Here we go again
Man this almost seems like someone criticizing SAPA the way everyone is circling the wagons here.

Now I have had nothing but respect from 99% of my Captains. In fact, I had one that said something that some could consider inappropriate the night before, and he apologized for it the next morning and asked if I was offended. Never have I felt harassed in any of my IOE or Sim. Long ago I posted an experience with the 1%, and I was blasted the same as flyingjgirl is getting right now.

Guess what guys?? Male Captains won't do the same thing to other guys. I know weird concept. And with my experience, I never mentioned to anyone. It's really not something you want to brag about. So can some of this messed up crap go on with guys that you would never imagine? Yeah, I think so. Is it every Captain or Check Airman that we have? Nope. I have noticed that male pilots tend to push the boundaries with FA's more than female pilots. Maybe it's a respect thing, maybe it's because they know how much we have put into our career and don't want to risk it.

All I am saying is just because it hasn't happened to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Just because you haven't witnessed it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. And just because it isn't reported, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Hell, after some of the "investigations" I have seen with the FA's that have reported stuff, I don't blame those that don't speak up.
Quote: I find it amazing that in defining the term reflow someone had to include references to hooking up on the road. It's super annoying. Totally unprofessional.

Well there's your mistake, you came to an anonymous web forum and expected professionalism. News flash, were a bunch of guys, if you don't like the references then don't read them!
I have created a thread entitled "Sexual Harassment @ SkyWest and elsewhere" to continue this topic here:

Disillusioned,

I don't think any reasonable person could disagree with the majority of your post. Every large company in existence is going to have occasional issues with idiots. That's what HR is for, and I have zero sympathy for anybody so disrespectful in this day and age.

What I do have a problem with, and I think you'll agree, is "flyinjgirl" claiming sexual harassment is common and a huge issue here. That's absurd, and I know it isn't. I actually have more female pilot friends here than male (most of our women here are awesome, active, and fun to hang out with outside of work). The ones I know also don't take BS from anybody, and would be taking care of business in no time flat is this was so common. Don't you also find it strange that somebody claiming this is such an epidemic also recently tried to come back to work here?

I will agree that it is not common. As I said, when I look at all the flights and all the crews I have had since being here, there is only one or two. I would probably be in that same category of not taking BS from anybody if you asked those that know me. But also, I didn't report this Captain because it was when I was newer and I didn't want to rock the boat. I feel bad because he may have been doing the same with others and I stood by silently. Hindsight is always 20/20 but eventually he got what was coming to him and is no longer here.

If she said this happened to her, my first inclination is to believe her. Why would she come back for more? Because she wants to fly planes and shouldn't have to worry about the other **** that comes with it. SayAlt gave some very good advice on the other thread for both sides. All I am asking is that we don't immediately jump to conclusions for either side of the fence, but try to understand what experiences the other person has had to make them feel this way.
The only check airman that I heard a sexual harassment story about is a female. She's still at Skywest, guano Loco crazy, and cute but not nearly as hot as she thinks she is.
Reserve question: if you're on a trip with no ready at the end of the day, do you have to answer your phone?
No nee to answer unless you are actually on some type of reserve.

Thanks for the reply. I was on RE1 & got called for a trip, no ready at the end. However, I'm on RE1 tomorrow.
Quote: "just trying to notify you so we don't have to wake you up tomorrow" lol.
Just trying to notify you today so your duty doesn't start at 4:00 am and you are available for more reflow hours.
