It is scary how fragile our good names are. One accusation--legitimate or otherwise--will ruin our lives, ours kids' lives, and our marriages. Be careful.

Having said that, I've never raised the armrest (I always push it down), or woken up up with my hands on a girl's ass .

I feel bad for the guy's daughter.

Gosh, I hope you're not serious.

Quote: I have to admit as much as a I despise molesters, the evidence in this case seems awfully thin for a conviction and lengthy prison sentence.

Do I think the guy did it? Probably. But there's no actual objective evidence to say that the guy wasn't asleep and his hand just ended up there. The actual amount of groping involved is subjective to the victim.
Ding, ding, we have a winner. Rickair wins the APF critical thinking award of the day.

Quote: I agree. Despise molesters. But here is a guy apparently convicted in a he said she said case. I guess I'll refuse dhs next to teen girls if I can't get another seat going forward.
Yes. Imagine you sit next to some hot teenager and she all of a sudden wakes up screaming and your hand is on the rest, other people say it is near her legs. She acts like you are a jerk and switches seats, so you glare at her then fall asleep. Everybody is looking at you in the few rows. You walk off the plane, and are met by the cops. Then the lawsuits begin. You lose your job and start unemployment. Depression follows, and your lawyer advises you just to "accept" a minor punishment and hopes it will be a reasonable plea. But, the judge wants to "make you an example" because of people like the posts above.

This guy gets PRISON TIME and SEX OFFENDER registry??? Think of the children!

I can't count the times in back that I've had a half asleep middle aged woman's head start to rest on my shoulder, or hand on the legs/lap (and sometimes a dude!). Maybe I should sue her for sexual harassment!

We used to joke about this sort of stuff in a more reasonable era:

Those Aren't Pillows! - Planes, Trains & Automobiles (10/10) Movie CLIP (1987) HD - YouTube

Quote: Every suspect is guilty, otherwise they wouldn't be suspects, would they?
Far, far too many people think in that fashion. It is very, very dangerous. Again, see above, and the link below.

You don't know what your hands are going to do once you go to sleep! That's why I always tighten up my belt and cram both of my hands down the front of my pants when I take a nap on a plane, especially if I'm sitting next to a 17yr. old girl.

That way, when I wake up, I'm only fondling myself!

No, Timbo, no! The teen will call Gloria Allred! Was this you??

http://www.tmz.com/2013/05/30/gloria-allred-airline-exposed-girl-masturbating-passenger-lawsuit/

They got a conviction out of this one too, and he has been ordered to register as a sex offender!

Now she is going after $United$.

(Although this one does sound worse. Still, why did she not simply look away, or get other passengers to corroborate and help out, given that there 'were no other seats in her class')???

Cases like the Captain groper trivializes the people that are true victims of sexual crimes, which should never, ever be tolerated.

Sorry looks like the wrong link. Here is the one with the video (NOT of the actual incident

United Airlines -- Accused of Exposing 17 Y.O. Girl to Masturbating Passenger | TMZ.com

For those of you that don't know, Allred is the sleazy version of Ms. cardiomd. Kind of Clarence Darrow turned Kim Kardashian if you know what I mean.

Quote: Not looking to start one either. It's just that you have to admit you join a lot of the RAH threads and contribute a lot of anti RAH sentiments. Herman was chiming in on a CHQ thread and I just assumed it was you critiquing all things RAH again. I'm certainly no RAH lifer but I also appreciate everything I've gotten from here and all the opportunities I have as a result of the experiences I've acquired here. Not to mention all the growth I've experienced both personally and professionally. I'm just sick of all the whining and negativity. The system is what it is and we all accepted a job knowing the conditions and rules. Thankfully my parents raised me better than to complain and feel sorry for myself for being paid what I agreed to and for working under work rules I also agreed to. And no, I'm not one of the 15% who voted yes. I'm all for leaving this a better place than I came to. Have a good day.
I did many years at RAH. While I may hold strong opinions, they are based on experience and nothing of what I have written has been rhetorical or general. I think you have mistaken me for toomanyrjs.

Plus, I am neither racist nor misogynistic.

Peace

Pilot sentenced for groping teenage girl on flight

U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball is, for ruining this guy's life.
Not buying this guy’s lame excuse.

The immediate words and actions taken when the incident occurred by him, his further ramblings later after the incident, the canned responses by his attorney (his attorney obviously had nothing to work with to enforce this guy's innocent pleading). Couple this with his statement in court: "Whatever the sentence is, I will accept it". That is the standard statement to make in court (he was advised by his attorney to make it) when you know you are guilty and could go down for some serious time.
