They still can
I'm actually kinda tempted to pick up stuff right up to legal max and over block every single leg so I time out at the end of each week and the month

32 on the LXJT side.
I'm a very junior dfw fo holding reserve, I could hold lines if things stood as is in ATL but a longer commute. Think any of the planes leaving this fall will make me wish I just stayed at dfw? Also commute to dfw by the way...

XJT is apparently projecting hiring through the end of the year: 20 CRJ and 48 ERJ per month. They are also projecting 40 CRJ upgrades and 72 ERJ upgrades (including 12 this month) through the end of the year.

That hiring/upgrade ratio seems a bit skewed, but we do seem to have a bunch of First Officers leaving.
My sources tell me that they are planning to keep putting out regular position notices for the rest of the year. They are not planning on a reduction in ATL at this time, and don't see the -200s leaving creating an overstaffing situation.

Are those upgrade numbers a total through the end of the year? Or per month? I'm guessing total.

Total. Recent position notices are effective November (CRJ) and January-ish (ERJ)

I'm not sure how they can drop 19 200s by year's end and not reduce ATL CRJ, unless they expect attrition and FTDT to mostly take care of it. It'd be great if that is the case though.

Look at the staffing right now. It's abysmal. Staffing is right size for the fall and the 200s leaving, not for summer staffing.
