Quote: You certainly seem to work for a different airline than I do. My W2 is triple what I made in 2007. I have moved one step up on the pay ladder. 4% more coming in 4 months. Hourly rate back then was around 160 straight rate and 240 overtime with no PS. Current rate 321 straight and 642 overtime. There is of course more with PS and the fact most guys now hit the 415C limit and many hit it far earlier. Another 16% for a portion of the year. Effective rate for second half of year 417 straight and 834 overtime using 12% for PS plus international pay. Changes in RR pay have netted me another 3 to 4% a year.
Have a friend who was a NB FO in 2007. Made 90K. Will make 450k this year as a NB CA.

That is all great and I think the general take away from your post is that things are great now - and I generally agree, they are pretty good.

But lets remember - all those big numbers you are tossing about above especially the 16% DC are needed to pretty much replace the 60% DB that is gone. And you are basically comparing now with 2007 which was basically the nadir of the industry.

All in all - things are pretty good, but maybe not as great as you portray them to be.

No problem. Leave the New Balance at home and knock off the awkward bad jokes with the young flight attendants.

This isn’t an excuse but there are plenty of Captains that let FOs of all seniority run checklists when they went to. Maybe what you experienced was a hang over from that.

Sounds like you need to read up on Vol 1 regarding triggers, Captain.

For example, the trigger used to commence the Pushback procedure is:

When all exterior doors are closed and the cabin is ready for pushback:
