Does this mean that 80 people will be in class in January or they'll interview candidates in January to only hire 80?

I believe they will have 80 pilots begin class for each of those months.

That means they will hire 80 people to be in the class, I dont think it directly relates with interviews. They usually let the people with conditional job offers pool up until they are hired.

They can't offer the 88 to new hires since there weren't any unfilled vacancies from the last AE. There weren't any vacancies period on that one, just displacements. The days of the rapid new hire advancement up the 88 ranks are over.

Just to be clear, I believe if enough FOs bid off the -88 without people trying to bid on, they may still have some -88 positions available. Secondary vacancies do not need to be posted on the initial AE or on a subsequent AE prior to new hires getting them. I don't recall if they noted any being available on the AE letter though.

There were no unfilled 88 positions on the last AE. They had posted a surplus of 110 Bs and between senior FOs bidding off and VDs they got rid of exactly 110. There were no mandatory displacements.

Most unfilled vacancies were in the 737/320 NYC and, I believe, 717ATL.

I would expect the next group of NH will be sent to those planes/bases.

I remember going to taco Cabana at our short San Antonio overnight years ago, on the walk back BAM!!!! waddled quickly to my hotel room. Key wouldn't work.

I don't recall how that ended.

But I'd still go back to Taco Cabana. I love that place.

So one of my friends has a internal rec that he could give me,( the one that prompts the app review) , what’s everyone’s thoughts should he do so now despite the current slow down of interviews?
