Screw the attrition talk.

REDUCED BLOCK HOURS!!!!

Remember all your seniority movement at JB for the next 10 years is through growth. No growth no movement!

The reduced hiring numbers is just proof that we won't get a CBA anytime soon or this year.

It's a game....a game that many of us have played before. Everything that both sides do until the CBA is a game called negotiations. We must stay focused out of the weeds which much of this is....IMHO...WE must do our job and let the game be played. Our volunteers are working very hard on our behalf.

Man even if it was done by the fall by the time we voted and got everything done we are going to be a bid or 2 or 3 past this one. Also I can't see this not being phased in since it's a first CBA. Money and that stuff sure but scheduling vacation/vacation bids all of that I doubt will happen day one.
It would be stupid to hire a bunch of guys when we don't even know what the final CBA would look like.

Before I get told I am sticking up for the company I am not. We need pilots and I don't think this bid is nearly enough but it's not proof we won't get a CBA soon.

I agree with that. Anything that drives more hiring is going to be phased in. We will have also already bid on vacation for next year as I dont see this being done before October.

But REDUCED BLOCK HOURS!

Not good for new hire movement and career progression.

Before you get too wound tight about reduced block, the 320 cabin refresh goes into swing in a few weeks.

With how badly we are ****ing off our customers with on time performance and cancellations, reducing flying so we have people and planes to cover it may be a good thing.

I see people sleeping in the terminal on a regular basis. That connector to the airtrain looks like a campground a lot of times. Not sure how that's good for 'our brand'.

Right and not doing 35 min turns with a crew and plane swap.
We can't keep going like we are.
But yeah that email stinks for a new guy and was a slap in the face about the RSAs. That email made it clear that picking up an RSA helps us hire and upgrade less pilots. There is no valid excuse to pick up an RSA and the company just put it in black and white.

Agree with this 100%.
