Hi all, just trying to gather some up to date intel and I hate to bother my internal rec too much !

does pay YOS start on DOH or after IOE ?

approx time for a new hire to get MCO? at this time not commuting is more important than E190/195 vs A320/321

If I'm lucky enough to be offered a position I just had, like many others, a serious complication arise with AA's announcement of huge retention bonuses for us wholly owned guys. I believe JetBlue is a great place to be however I cannot ignore what my compensation will be at the end of the day. That said though,I believe the culture and crewmembers at JetBlue will make up for the AA induced headaches that come with that additional compensation and that definitely counts for something !

I appreciate any help and or thoughts on the matter

Pay clock starts day 1 of training (despite being on training pay until done with training). Start date anniversary = year 2 pay, etc.

not sure these days. Things are in flux with this bid that’s about to come out that will likely have massive movement. Guessing 1 year or so to hold MCO E190 (no 195s). Few years to hold Airbus FO MCO.

Not sure what B6 has that AA doesn’t (or Vice versa) culture or crew wise. My friends at AA seem happy there. B6 is not all unicorns and rainbows. Don’t come to B6 for the culture or crew. You might be disappointed. Come for the job, the pay, maybe a base if the difference is a commute vs drive, maybe the ability to instruct in MCO (which you could do year 1 if you applied for a newhire instructor job). Year 1 you’ll make about 80-90k. Year 2 on the E190 prob 115+, more if you hustle. Year 3 on the 190 150k isn’t out of the question, especially now with as much premium as there’s been. So, do the math based on that. Good luck.

While the Bus pay rates are slightly higher at AA (and the ability to bid widebody flying), I don’t believe AA is contractually any better than Jetblue in most areas. Someone correct me it I’m wrong.
With out work rules, there’s is a sh!t ton of soft money to be made here. That’s for certain. Ultimately, you wanna live near a base at JB.

This.

Got a good friend over there. Constant reassignments (not our limit of 2 EA's in 12 months).... Basically everyone used as a rolling reserve.

Congrats! I am not aware of any specific interview prep to use. Everything from HR and the Pilot portion of the interview are TMATW questions. As relaxed as it can be, but remember that it is still an interview.

Am I too old for the Majors to accept.
Hello Folks,

A general question for the people in the know.

Retired Fed age 58:

Total time 11,000
Multi engine Turboprop 2300
PIC time 8500
No true Jet Time.
First class medical (no restrictions)
No internal airline recommendations
Live in NYC

Currently working in retirement for a 135 outfit (Hold PIC type) and thinking about a change. So what do you think am I too old for the Majors (JetBlue) to hire.

Reality is Reality

Thanks for your time.

Not too old imo. Don’t think airlines can legally discriminate based on age. Apply and see what happens. I’m sure they’d value the experience of a retired fed. Flew with a newish guy near your age a little bit ago, only a couple years younger than you when he started.

Guys have been hired over age 60.
