It's a bad idea at any point...

The job of the union is to protect and fight for the pilot group. I don't pay dues for them to find me my next job. We're all adults here, find your own job. You aren't owed anything just because you have a big shiny expensive degree, time at the company, or because you fly a contracted out RJ to a mainline partner. If I see someone in an orange lanyard I just assume they are lazy or have too many black marks on their record to progress elsewhere.

What if lets say the 9E and Delta came to some sort of an agreement last August to the effect of a flow. Obviously the pilot group would be giving something up because a flow or 'progression' as we like to disguise it as now, comes at a cost.
Pilot group takes a QOL hit because flow! and orange lanyards!! Now where would the pilot group be? Up shnits creek without a paddle.

The union continuing to push this progression is ridiculous. Our job security and protecting the contract should be a top priority. Take off your goofy lanyard that didn't and never will do anything.

I was really confused until I figured out you were doing a parody skit for a cliche idiot pilot

The union pushes pay up for its members and what better way than getting you to the place where you make more as an FO than as a EDV captain, best of all, same national union.

And you're right, the flow was never meant as a freebie job. One, EDV was having trouble staff which hurts big daddy's pockets (my pockets), two EDV was already so overpaid how can Delta justify giving you all more money (but maybe they should try just in case wink wink), and someday Delta pilots (maybe not all but certainly more every day) would like ALLLLLLLL the flying to be in house, but sticking you guys as a B scale or illegal staple really doesn't make sense. But EDV pilots would like an easier path than a 50-50 shot at Delta, and some would just like a job just like the industry average benefit most of the rest of the wholly owned have.

After all, dbag pilots have been crying like little dbags we need to all work together whatever the tradeoff, so let's do it

I'm a Delta pilots and I, like you, believe the orange lanyard makes sense and want to give any EDV guy wearing it a wave or thumbs up. I want your airplanes at mainline. I want you at mainline. No one has a crystal ball but certainly we can all agree we are better together. You know... Like a union.

Yeah things are a little crazy right now, but sooner than you think we'll be back to a semblance of normal. It's important we still plan as if the world will keep spinning.

I hear ya brother . The world owes nobody nothing . However the last 5 years when the company that created and owns us was making Record profits in the Billions and we are flying their metal and pax and they pay us but yet couldn’t flow us in and treated us like peasants , there is something majorly wrong with that . It was morally bankrupt on their part . But now it doesn’t matter . The big man upstairs was looking out for us . Delta is not going to need pilots for a decade . The carnage and furloughs are yet to come along with Big D declaring bankruptcy I’m sure . If we would have gotten flow every single Endeavor pilot would have been flushed and we would have been delivering pizzas for the next 10 years . Now god bless the pizza workers cause lord knows I’ve had my share of Pizza Hut on layovers since nothing else is open , but I’ve got 26 years in this place and am very relieved we got no flow . This whole industry is gonna change and when things are said and done we might be flying L1011’s for all we know .scrap the flow , nobody cares anymore .

you obviously don’t know the economics of how much DAL inc . or any other major makes off of 76 seat jet flying . They make a fortune. We are way underpaid . Second , last I checked, DAL inc. consists of Delta, Endeavor , Delta services and the infamous Refinery . They aren’t “your” pockets anymore than they are “my” pockets . It’s DAL incorporated’s responsibility to pay and staff 9E as much as it is their responsibility to pay and staff Delta .9E pilots or employees getting appropriate pay or a percentage of profit sharing from DAL inc is not a burden out of “your” so called pockets , especially since we are a part of DAL inc .Now if they sold 9E and we became a separate company , then I could agree with your assessment .Im sure we haven’t even begun to see the shake up of things as we’ve known it , bankruptcies, mergers , furloughs etc ...so after the mushroom cloud dissipates and the radiation clears , we will see what’s left .

Thank you for your insightful and profound retort. Sorry Delta gave you the big TBNT, skipper.

You know that the union pushes progression because the majority of pilots here want the union to push progression, right?

If you have a problem with that, then you should take it up with, y'know, the union.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. Instead he complains on APC.

Whines like he is old Pinnacle. Except it, anyone with a seniority number above 500 wants to go elsewhere. Everyone at DAL (pilots) want those planes back under the “Delta” call sign.

What millennials are most famous for besides narcissism is its effect: entitlement. And this is how you are showing yourselves to Delta. There’s absolutely, no way in hell you’re getting career progression by looking and acting like this.

Well for starters, I am on the receiving end of “okay boomer”. Additionally, who do you think makes up the ever increasing population at Delta?

Irregardless of all that, most are not so narrow minded to just judge an entire generation of people based on the most visible stereotypes.
