Most airlines will likely not go bankrupt during this epidemic.

Might want to take a quick gander at the history of Frank Lorenzo and Carl Icahn...

Frank’s influence is alive and well today.

Yup, he's still at it, making millions at the expense of others.
I think he destroyed more lives in the airline industry than any since then...

Delta posted a new schedule yesterday. It actually looks a little more positive.

Next month's schedule adds a handful of flights back to our schedule for the last week of June.

July's first draft brings us about a 60% increase in the number of flights on a weekday, still primarily out of ATL, DTW, and MSP.

Here's the really interesting part. The July schedule also includes the first half of August... and August looks an awful lot like our schedules before Covid went down. It includes a return to regular ops at JFK and LGA; a ramp-up of service at ATL; CVG and RDU resuming as focus cities; and the 200 flying again in NYC, CVG, and RDU. The CM7s and CM8s return. DTW and MSP ops shrink a touch from July.

August has no service to secondary markets like HPN, MDW, or PVD, nor does it have any Mad Dog service. Thus, that August schedule wasn't just left over from the old schedules by mistake. It looks like the Delta plan (right now) is to spool us back up in August.

Thanks for the rundown. Any indication if DTW/MSP 200 flying will increase? It sounds like the 19 CRJ200s from OO are on 9E's certificate but may not be sent through conformity for awhile.

I saw this as well but being very cautious with August actually staying like that. It seems like a huge jump but hopefully there are positive trends for demand we don’t see.

Looks like Delta Retiree’s are getting S3A’s back; albeit 6 travel day passes a year. This will make for fun times I’m sure.
Maybe on the bright side mainline above wing employees won’t growl at us as much for merely existing as a detriment to their retired colleagues’ vacation plans.

Supposedly a large number of employees working in RES got the call to come back to work starting in June. Certainly related to increased demand.

Yes but people were also on hold for 7+ hours so those 2000 should never have been gone with people waiting so long. But again hopefully this is a good sign but my home airport goes from 4x daily 717 to ATL to 9x daily 738 to ATL. So I am just being very cautious, seems like a huge jump.

So ALL Retirees will be S3A now? I’m sure they’re glad they got that back!
