How long is it anticipated that MIA will remain the junior base? Is the schedule still 4/3 or so with all day trips down there? How long till CA upgrade now and/or will they be looking at direct entry CA soon like many regionals are?

Also what is the Europe flying? Didn't know Swift flew over there.

I think MIA will always be junior. Schedules vary month to month. Anywhere from 3-6 day trips.

Upgrade I’d say somewhere about a year or so depending on attrition and growth. Things will slow down a bit in the fall as they go from balls to the wall to hockey season.

They’re not looking for DECs right now, when they do they want pilots with 737 time or heavier jet command experience.

The European flying is seasonal. Goes from May to October. This is the first year they’ve done it.

Previous poster stated MIA pilots were logging 70-90 hours a month right now. How much does that drop when hockey season starts?

By 3 to 6 day trips do you mean 3 single day trips to 6 single day trips a week? Or do you mean they do 3 to 6 day trips with overnights in the traditional sense now. With the Europe flying, do 737 pilots end up getting sent over the Europe to fly around over there, or they just do flights with the 767 to Europe.

Day trips as in out and backs, ending in MIA, 3-6 a week. We have 2-3 737NG aircraft flying in Europe. The pilots are based in Europe via seniority. We are not flying any 767s.

What pilots usually get sent over there? The lower seniority ones, or is it something that people actually want? I saw this pic so thought you guys had 767s now https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8903672

Have the made any improvements in FO pay to better compete with other airlines and regionals. Would love being home every night and doing warm weather flying from MIA but I'm already in enough financial bad shape for the time being to take a pay cut for another year before being able to upgrade.

Nope nada. Way behind the benefits curve

Sooo who are the 2 new investors? Heard they are putting a LOT of money into Swift

Europe seniority goes from pretty senior to new hire FOs. Pay is double plus bonuses, so if you wanted to go, and if you are able to go for months at a time, then bid for it.
The Eastern 767s are painted Swift colors with 'eastern' on the side. The Eastern owner is also part owner in Swift, plan is to merge eventually.

In what European cities are the pilots based? Do they provide lodging or are you basically on your own? I really love Europe and like the idea of living there for a few months.

Overall, how is working for Swift? A good opportunity for a regional FO looking to move on from a dying regional?
