I agree with you. I wonder if it is some sort of 121 curriculum restriction.

Fortunately, the training we do isn’t the checkrides all over again. It’s basically a sim session that’s train to proficiency on your MV. That will reset your landing currency and buy you 120 more days of pre-retirement.

Correct. But based off what Iv been able to put together, it appears as though they are applying dequaling from a landing perspective to the same as dequaling from a consolidation perspective. Which I could see making sense. Haven’t flown the plane for real and fell out of landing currency…. Can’t imagine the FAA loving that.

Historically how long before the end of the year do negotiations start? I know we'll possibly see them come sooner but just curious

Default So is it true ?

00 wants to dump the EAS flying (that they are contracted to fly) to go after other flying at a lower price and basically undercutting all of the other Regional Flying. Because they are having staffing issues and cannot seem to get people in the door because of LO PAY? 00 is also lowering everyone else’s pay buy trying a stunt like this….Glad the transportation Sec said “um No!”

SkyWest exercised a clause in the contract that permitted them to stop service in 90 days with notification to the DOT. The DOT exercised their option for refusal. Nothing has been done in any kind of underhanded way, and it's all been according to the contract. It's all on the DOT's web site; feel free to look it up and see for yourself.

As long as you're researching things, read the transcripts for the last two quarterly financial results call for SkyWest. They've been talking about trimming the pro-rate side of the operation for a bit and for those who have been paying attention, this move wasn't a real surprise. For that matter, it's been brought up here on APC many times about how smaller cities will lose service as 50 seaters go away and as the pilot shortage continue.
