That's the part UAL keeps missing... at least art YX, and I'm sure with OO, we wanted to/tried to negotiate... Your circus union told us to pound sand. That's why they told us to just deny then.

UALALPA has asked us not to deny jumpseats, even to SWest. I will do as they ask but I will be sending JS info to UALALPA and Flight Ops as requested. My guess is they are cross referencing names to see if cAPTAINS that deny jseats are using them on U.

Way above my paygrade. I will not weaponize the jumpseat (unless you are a SCAB).

My observation over 25 years is pilots may be fractured a lot of the time but the wagons tend to circle when the attack comes from within on closely guarded privileges like the JS.

My personal opinion is it’s very short-sighted to think there won’t be consequences of some sort for the participants. It also seems short sighted to jump on a wagon apparently driven by pilots who have no aspirations to leave SWest.

Maybe I’m missing something. In any case, weaponizing the JS was a huge tactical failure IMHO.

He’s not UA. Listing for the jumpseat is one’s only option outside of buying a ticket if you don’t have pass privileges on that airline. You guys can keep playing this game though. We’ll end up positive space to work, possibly on one of your flights. Also, pi$$ing off a bunch of ALPA pilots kind of limits your odds of gaining employment elsewhere. United and Delta make up a big chunk of the available jobs out there since AA hires mostly through their flow program.

 

Please encourage them to pursue this through their J/S committee as well as whatever channels are available to ZW concerning pass travel. They might even consider, after speaking with their reps, bringing UALALPA into the loop in an FYI sort of way. If this is true at face value, this “c”aptain went way the **** out of his lane (as some eventually do when reacting emotionally to something). This guy may have put all SKW pass privileges on UAL in jeopardy, if not his own employment.
It’s been suggested that perhaps a misunderstanding occurred in the comm between the gate and jet bridge. Whether it did or not, this highlights an important point of leaving the gate agents out of this. There’s been several reports of captains too chicken**** to deny the j/s face to face, and instead, briefing agents to not send down or even list UAL/UAX-E jumpseaters. Their JOB is to do exactly that! I don’t know, perhaps these pilots think they’ll remain nameless if the jumpseaters never make it to the plane?? That would be a bad assumption.
Whichever the case, the tantrum will eventually either be abandoned or it will be taken too far and Mom will lose her patience and **** gets real..

No, I think all of the confusion I experienced occurred at the gate. My point being OO CA's apparently need to take charge of this and ensure that the gate is representing what they really want represented. RJ's often get remote parking, so the CA and the gate are not co-located.

I'm assuming that hassling non-UA OAL JSers is not what you all actually intend.
