Just because you got the flight hours, a shiny UND diploma and got a job, doesn’t mean you are owed anything.

I’m probably wrong though since you have been a Captain for a few months now and know everything about everything. Newly minted CAs know more than most senior CAs and all FOs.
People always seem to confuse Millennials and Gen-Z. Read something other than Wikipedia so you don't make as much of a jackass out of yourself in your first sentence.

No one owes me anything. That doesn't mean I don't ask and that doesn't mean I don't draw attention to something that can and should change. Elitist people like yourself like arbitrarily to throw that one out there to appease their shallow minds and fulfill their useless existence as if their generation isn't guilty of the same. But besides all of that the funniest part is you acting like you actually know who I am as if it's going to increase the already zero respect I have for you or what you have to say.

Wonder how they will catch up on all the CQ, those classes and sims will be going 24/7 I'd guess. No upgrades/transitions for a long time either.

Also interesting, but not at all shocking, to see zero base transfers are anticipated til we get back to pre COVID levels of travel and movements.

There won't be much, if any, movement for quite a while. Provided we don't furlough the new hires on OCT1 they will need to put them back into the training pipeline as well.

DP made a great point on the RSR on the monthly transfers being taken for granted.

Very true. I know other airlines used to run it once every few months at best, shows how good we had every single month without fail.

I believe someone pointed out somewhere else that somebody in flight ops management made note that we were about 2000 over staffed, and that was at the peak low in April. Hopefully by October we may be in a position to be just about right on staffing.

I heard the Mesa call today and they said at worst they would expect to have to furlough 100 but hopefully zero. Let's hope we can be find ourselves in a similar position when the time comes. Keep that no furlough record going!

People have been sent home on LOA status and pretty much lost their job.

It’s a furlough. It’s a BS party line.

I’m one of those training guys. The company did give me VTO and is covering my benefits. No furlough.

Perhaps it was I-VTO....involuntary-voluntary time off. But getting us off property was the correct/right business decision. Other regionals kept training going then suddenly furloughed ’em all. Now keeping us in a company status has promised a future on the back side. I am thankful.

Oh, what that future holds (post covid) I do wonder. Month after month of reserve (years?), DTW or ORD (maybe MSP) for a very long time? Ten or 15 years until mainline? It’s kinda funny in a way. Lucky to be last in... but how many years reserve will that equal?!

All things subject to change (fine print at the bottom).

Has the company kept in touch with you about a return to class date at all? I hear the training centres open again in July!

They haven't sent anything to me specific. Its hard to imagine from our departure that we'd be called back any time soon. Classes that were about to graduate were planned to start all over. Not sure if that's the case now but, regardless, I'm not holding my breath.
