Why is that? What's wrong with their reasoning?

The problem with the TA is that it offers next to nothing in the way of QOL improvement. It also makes 401k matching much worse for those in years 0-4, is the lowest in compensation among the new contracts except commutair, etc. There are good reasons to vote no.

But I voted yes.

401k and days off, for starters. They had 13 in V1.0 and they took that out. They also call not having EFB notifications a gain when we never had those to begin with so you’re back to the beginning there. The vesting thing is silly, and not getting the 12% DC until year 10 should be lowered to at most 5 years. Or make it 4 years since you’re taking away contributions for those that leave before 4 years.

The only 0-4 year 401k that’s higher than 4% is Horizon Air. All the AA WO are 3.5% or less, Mesa 3%, Gojet 2%. Overall Horizon has the best 401k package followed by SkyWest.

These are the QOL gains

- No stand-alone ready reserve
- Guaranteed 12 days off per month
- Same day straight swaps

The financial gains have been posted. You can argue not enough gains in the contract, but “concessions” lol, stop trolling.

A concession is a concession. Period. We're not going to change the definition of that. Concessions were made in the 401(k) for the majority of SkyWest pilots, which will ultimately negatively impact the rest of the SkyWest pilots 401(k)s with the HCE testing.

Same day straight swaps is a joke. You could do that before anyway with Sked+

No stand alone ready just means they're going to hack line-holder schedules to pieces.

This TA is a [recycled] piece of garbage, end of story. Will be a shame if SGU manages to trick enough of the pilot group into comparing it to TA1 instead of what the rest of the industry is doing to get ya'll to vote yes.

ALPA doesn't let probationary pilots vote because it doesn’t want anyone feeling like they need to vote a certain way to avoid being fired without recourse. I'm not saying that happens, but that rule eliminates that possibility.

I keep hearing folks talk about how we're getting hurt on the 401K Years 1-4. I think it is worth clarifying that the 401K for Years 1-4 is not changing at all for current pilots on property. You still get the same 4% match that you always have and that match is fully vested. However, and this is important, the TA does effect pilots coming on the property Oct 1 and later. Their company matched contributions do not fully vest until the 4 year mark....and that is a bunch of crap. That was one (of a few) reasons I voted No on this TA as I'm not going to sell our future pilots short.

Just wanted to clarify as there seems to be a lot of misconceptions out there about our current pilot 401K structure.

There’s so much misleading information in this single post idk where to start. Unfortunately same day swaps are not processing through sked+ as of late for CA’s (ask me how I know). Just like we can’t drop anything either. Different story for FO’s. Not only is it speculative to claim “they’re going to hack line-holder schedules into pieces”, it’s just straight FUD.

In our threads you claim the bid by our management is well below the ask. In the major threads you post SkyWest can’t afford the bid and the regionals are dead in the water. I don’t believe your distraught opinion on the OO TA is based in good faith.
