These are the QOL gains

- No stand-alone ready reserve
- Guaranteed 12 days off per month
- Same day straight swaps

The financial gains have been posted. You can argue not enough gains in the contract, but “concessions” lol, stop trolling.
No stand alone ready is only a “gain” for reserves. (And the company). Not the majority of the pilot group. Eliminating ready is a concession for line holders. Why? Because with no ready reserves line holders will be reassigned so a short call can fill in for the line holder. Same day straight swaps - I like that. Gonna steal it.

No ready actually puts EVERYONE on duty on ready. It’s a gain for the company.

News flash everyone at every airline who’s a line holder has turned into a ready reserve. When I worked at SkyWest I did not mind being reflowed in the middle of a trip because you always finished before your original scheduled trip. I HATED ready reserve. 8 hour sits at the airport is the same as a prison sentence because you’re the final option so you never get called. Just sit and stare at walls all day, just brutal.

Why is MESA still 11 days off for line holders? The answer is they’re at critical staffing levels and any give on time off takes 800 pilots and shrinks their availability more. Not a winning strategy and I don’t think any of the regionals will give out much quality of life gains. I think some of you guys are dreaming. Want more time at home? Apply to a Major.

Also doesn’t MESA routinely Jr. man their pilots into off days? So I’d argue it’s not even guaranteed 11 off. Hey at least you get 60% for the deadhead pay back home. Then you can take industry low DH pay and apply it your industry low 401k 3% match for the first 1-9 years.

why settle for 18 days off. That’s not even good. WB pilots typically get 20 days off a month and north of $240K for FOs or $400K for CAs. THAT should be a minimum starting point. They need us just as bad. 20 days or BUST. when the concessions come in bankruptcy next year, they can claw it back.

I agree. I never really minded a reflow, It always worked in my favor either pay wise or finishing early or both.... I am at work to work was my attitude, even as a senior line holder I rarely cared.

You're not guaranteed to finish early on a reflow... wait until they start reflowing and extending you.

Im aware of what can happen, Im only speaking from real personal experience. 6 years as a line holder only a two reflows and once request for "help" on the road and they all worked in my favor.

Ive had roughly the same experience. Some of this may come down to which domicile you are based in, but I've moved around a good bit and never felt like this reflow stuff warranted much attention. Same goes with reserve stuff, if you don't like reserve, give it a few months, you probably won't be on reserve anymore. I don't see much point in fighting tooth and nail for policy changes over topics like this. For me the only QOL improvements that can be made won't be made until we get more pilots in house -- I'm talking ability to drop trips. Other QOL change I'd like doesn't need a contract; I'd like to not fly so many gd 4-day trips when I live 15 minute from base (The company can make adjustments to that anytime they want).
