We also ask the same questions; not sure if he/she/it works for OO.

It isn't much more than the pay rates that are posted on here. They did away with stand-alone ready reserve assignments (just getting sent to the airport to sit ready for 8 hours). We still have ready as part of reserve flying assignments. Pilots hired prior to the TA passing were fully vested in their 401k, now it will take 4 years to get the money. And 12 days off a month are guaranteed. That's it.

It would be really wise to compare work rules amongst all of the regionals out there. Work rules are what make the paycheck, not just hourly rates. Unfortunately, I don't know of a good source for that. MDG, Duty rig, Premium pay, Trip rig, Holiday pay and how it's paid, DH pay, etc...

Unfortunately it really was just a change in pay, tiny boost to per diem, removed standalone Ready (ie a reserve call just to sit RDY all day, an 8 hour block that paid 4, not even Min Daily; but they can, do, and will still add plenty of smaller RDY blocks on reserve trips). Also added a whole section at the end about Part Time. Removing standalone RDY, and part time pilots, was a temporary agreement we had during Covid so it just staples that onto the contract.

Everything else is the same. 75 guarantee, 4:12 min daily, 2 days off between blocks, 2:1 duty rig 4:1 trip rig, still have historical credit instead of block or better. Oh I guess they officially made it 12 days off a month. Previously was 11, so oooooo we got 1 more day.

Seniority list at an all-time low (since I've been here).

4918 as of today. Starting a betting pool for the October gone report. There are dozens (dozens of dozens?) of people waiting for a bonus check to clear 10/1 and then they're out.

The new TA doesn't do anything to stem the tide. Only a major economic event will do that--but for now hiring at the majors continues at a fever pace.

Question for the group: Does this new TA make Spirit less relevant? (that nasty second-tier operator, as our illustrious leader put it....) Asking for a friend at a third or fourth tier airline.

i think it makes them More relevant. There is no way these new rates are sustainable. They are temporary in nature while the major partners reconfigure and take over the flying. The majors need the pilots and have pretty much all said that the new rates are ineffective given that most 50 seaters are not able to carry 50 people. So yes. People are still leaving and going to leave. If you are younger than 60, still no point In staying here only to see your QOL and airline shrink.

I think Spirit is relevant as ever. The pay and the training guarantee have needed to increase for a very long time, and I think all this (especially with Frontier paying more) will make them move the needle. Argue all you want about whether regional pay is sustainable (personally I think regionals are dying and now accelerating to extinction). But if an FO can get to F9 right now, basically pay would be the same then skyrocket. NK would be a slight reduction, but up until two weeks ago the NK pay scale was same or better than what FOs were making.

Regardless, if you’re already commuting at a regional or already live in a NK domicile, it’s a no brainer. Second year pay at NK is still really good, compared to regional FO. I have several FOs ranging from very new to somewhat experienced, all prepping leave for NK. I almost left myself, at the beginning of the year, but stayed for upgrade in base. Still TBD if that was worthwhile or not, but the new paycheck is okay while I wait for my CJO to turn to a class date.

I think fewer people will leave to Spirit with the new agreement
