it’s temporary. Mesa TA buys them maybe 2 years whereas the Skywest TA bought them 2.5 years, enough to wind down the operation completely. With the new Mesa TA, it is more in line with UAs plan to wind down UAX flying by 2024 and so Skywest will now need to quicken their dissolution timeline to complete the shutdown target goal sooner, more in line with the other regionals who are in liquidation mode.

They aren't, but if anyone was planning something like this I am pretty sure they wouldn't be publicly announcing it on any earnings calls. It would come in the form of a last moment email like Compass etc...staff all received.

Wait a minute now, it’s not like ALPA representation did anything to start the upward movement of pay at the regional level. The first shoe that dropped was AA greenlighting pay increases to slow he unsustainable attrition of the Captain and senior FO ranks…
If I recall, it’s BB at Republic holding out and not the IBT….

What the regionals look like after that is anyones guess. Pilots will get paid- and airplanes will then go away. It’s the way it’s always been.

Still don’t know why they won’t pull the vote, management is just going to get a better idea of how much they need to give to get that 51%, it favors them so incredibly much by even having this vote. Recall Aric and let’s put in a real negotiating committee such as alpa. How can sapa say they have an open door policy when 90% doesn’t even know who their rep is

What we are witnessing is the death of the regionals. The implosion. It’s similar to the bubble before a market crash. Rapid escalation in pay rates as a desperate measure to hang on for a few more years. Then the bankruptcies begin when the recession kicks in deep next year. Then the collapses. One or two regionals will come out alive, but with substantially reduced pay scales and much smaller pilot groups. The lucky will get hired by the majors, the rest will be furloughed. Bankruptcies are used regularly by airlines as a business tool. This time it will be the regionals turn and we will all get to see how it ends for most of them. It’s only a matter of time. Plan for that and you won’t be caught off guard. What I haven’t counted for is the elections of 2024 and the substantial possibility that the USA will plunge into chaos and the possibility of a civil war. Then all bets are off and no regional would survive long.

Never thought I would say this, but starting to dig the doomino vibe.
Or, to quote Jim Morrison “ I want to have my kicks before the whole ****house goes up in flames”
