Sup you have been away a while on some sort of leave?

They can do like they've always done. DH to and from some other domicile to fly. Look at reserve staffing in SLC for next month, 25 CRJ CAs vs 6 CRJ FOs for 50 flying lines.

As far as transitions to the ERJ... they've been pretty much non-existent for the last 2 years. I think they ran one class about a year ago and cancelled another one or two.

how many of those flying lines are DL? I wouldn't count on UA flying lines out of SLC to far into the future.. UA wants out of the 50 seaters also.. Right now they are forcing the flying with DH’s. Pretty soon that will be hard to do. Add in the Charter side proposal to serve SLC/DEN-CYN… that takes some more flying away for the SLC OO bid packet..

I have a class date for 3/27/2023 and I'm super excited. But, if everyone is being pushed in January and February, that is making me nervous.
I was planning on moving at the end of February so I don't know if I should give my landlord notice now or pay for another month with the uncertainty of when I would be able to start (let alone tell my current job). I'll be bugging anyone I know at OO and following this thread closely.

I have a CRJ class date of 5/15. Hopefully it’s far enough out that nothing changes but I guess if everyone ahead of me gets bumped it’s probably inevitable.

Do not give notice at your current job. Pay your rent. Do not move. Best advice I can give. Maybe get an LOA from your current job once you start class (your flight booked to training) but do not do any of those other things till you complete ioe.

If your current job isn't in aviation, this is pretty good advice. But if you're already at a 121 or 135 carrier, please for the love of God don't try to work at 2 outfits at once. It will not go well...

Thank you. I'm working as a CFI right now but my flight school is getting edgy because they suspect I am close to my hours. They seem to not want to give me any more students because "I'm going to be leaving the ones I already have anyway". No worries on hitting minimums though. I have less than 45 hours to go.
My friend is currently going through SkyWest training for the E175 and he said the wait is crazy. Between indoc and ground school, he had 6 weeks off and he will likely be getting more time off soon so SkyWest can move more CAs through.

for now. But you don’t need such a large airline when the biggest major you feed tells you, “nevermind, we will do our own flying for the most part in a few years”. Then you downsize and plan accordingly
