SLC?? You nuts!!. Look at the flow board. Only 4-5 CRJ’s flying there a day on the DL side. And don’t count UA as they don't want CRJ’s flying to “big” city's in there master plan.. there only lopsided in SLC because if all the senior CA’s that refuse to transition to the ERJ and instructors that also won’t transition.
As far as transitions to the ERJ... they've been pretty much non-existent for the last 2 years. I think they ran one class about a year ago and cancelled another one or two.

They can do like they've always done. DH to and from some other domicile to fly. Look at reserve staffing in SLC for next month, 25 CRJ CAs vs 6 CRJ FOs for 50 flying lines.

how many of those flying lines are DL? I wouldn't count on UA flying lines out of SLC to far into the future.. UA wants out of the 50 seaters also.. Right now they are forcing the flying with DH’s. Pretty soon that will be hard to do. Add in the Charter side proposal to serve SLC/DEN-CYN… that takes some more flying away for the SLC OO bid packet..

I have a class date for 3/27/2023 and I'm super excited. But, if everyone is being pushed in January and February, that is making me nervous.
I was planning on moving at the end of February so I don't know if I should give my landlord notice now or pay for another month with the uncertainty of when I would be able to start (let alone tell my current job). I'll be bugging anyone I know at OO and following this thread closely.

If your current job isn't in aviation, this is pretty good advice. But if you're already at a 121 or 135 carrier, please for the love of God don't try to work at 2 outfits at once. It will not go well...

My friend is currently going through SkyWest training for the E175 and he said the wait is crazy. Between indoc and ground school, he had 6 weeks off and he will likely be getting more time off soon so SkyWest can move more CAs through.

The slowdown in FO hiring is because of a lack of CA to fly with. The lack of CA is because the majors continue to do massive hiring. They continue to hire them away at a record pace. The demand is there. Most days, since the first of the year, PAX through TSA has exceeded pre-Covid levels.
