Out of curiosity, which other regionals do you have offers from? Gojet class dates are apparently all the way into next year, save for cancellations. They put me on the waitlist.

I'm hoping that being resolute and not selling future pilots down the river won't screw me here. Not signing either way.
Unfortunately for SKW the lesser qualified and weaker candidates will be the ones signing as they are less likely to have other offers and options, step on a dollar to pick up a dime?

What “greater qualified” applicants are left? Also, weaker applicants don’t get the job offer. Skywest has more applications on file than any other regional. The real issue is that many in this generation feel like they are owed something. They are owed $80,000 in training to become an airline pilot. The truth is, they don’t “deserve “ anything.

Higher qualified applicants are more likely to get multiple offers vs. lesser qualified. No doubt. They might not be getting the best FO's because of that.
In a highly competitive market with an enormous surplus of applicants, it's also true that a highly qualified applicant could only get 1 offer. With having several thousand applicants on file, can they get enough good ones to sign? With the sign rate reportedly more than half of CJO'S offered, their strategy is working.

Desperation doesn't have to be duress from financial circumstances or similar. What if someone's life and family are established in a Western state and the only regional with a base there is SkyWest? Is it desperate to choose SkyWest with contract vs. commuting to PHL/CLT for Piedmont? Commute that far for a regional? Sell your house with an older, low interest mortgage for something to move out East? What dollar value do you place on "living in base"? (Especially if you can do it as both FO and CA)? And presumably we're all going to expect being at a regional for several years as the new norm...

Just give it a few weeks and we will see someone post "Help I'm 50K in debt after washing out"

Im a debt free civillian helicopter pilot and I'm not signing despite it being my only CJO.

The idea sigining because of only making 30k and being in 100k of flight school debt is wild, wait until your 150k in debt and you have added a 121 failure.

Yeah, I'm reluctant to go to Gojet with it being a 2 leg commute to STL or ORD (unless they ever get DEN like my interviewer said they were trying to, not gonna count on that). But would I spend $80,000 to take 2 hours off my commute? Or to get out of the 135 world 3 months sooner? Not at this point. I don't like charter but it hasn't made me that jaded yet. Luckily I'm not a cfi desperately trying to get my foot in the door.

My buddy doing his CTP at ATPJets in Dallas said the entire rest of his class is Skywest. Apparently they were the last class before the contract went out. Not an hour of turbine experience between the 15 or so of them. Guys like that are running out of options and they don't want to risk their cert at a crappy cargo feeder or clean a lav on a beechjet in the August heat. So they'll sign, because they're short sighted and desperate and seemingly have no other choice.

How many 18 year olds take out student loans for that much knowing they'll be in debt for a decade or more? How many think more than 5 seconds before signing? Skywest has them by the balls and is playing on their fear and uncertainty.

I also emailed recruitment 5/30 they said be patient (fair enough).

I emailed my recruiter again 6/13, again no reply.

Would love to hear back from Skywest before I spend the cash on ATP CTP for Envoy...

Just wanted share my experieince so far and see if others have been waiting 1+ month to hear back after an interview?
that doesn't seem right. Hopefully they contact you,

I totally agree with this. Noone is invincible, anything can happen to anyone in this profession whether it is your mistake or someone else's. When it happens, it is significantly better to be in the green instead of red.

has anyone gotten a class date without signing it? i don't even know if it's possible now without it since they're still interviewing people and there's plenty of people who already has a CJO and no class date

This 100%. People get upset at people who “skip” the line. But you know who isn’t upset? The person sitting at mainline building seniority below them and making $330+/hr while the others “pay their dues”.

The name of the game hasn’t changed. Get hired at a regional, and do everything you can do to kick, scratch, and crawl your way out as soon as you can.

Took only 4.5 years for me to get hired, and am also much happier. Kudos to the folks doing it in much less time!
