So I heard SKW is big on Jepp charts. Anyone know where I can find some for free? like AirNav or something?

If you type in a search for jeppesen legend, you can download a PDF that has all the symbols and definitions etc. for the Jeppesen charts.

There is no free anything when it comes to jepps. If you are looking to study just need to find a friend with some old charts you can use

That means that Alaska would be tripling their region feed in a year. I don't see it happening. It's all just rumors till the planes are on property.

If you want to believe in rumors we are opening a DTW and ATL base with the 40 DAL 175's that are coming

First no Delta benefits, but I wouldn't expect new guys to fully understand how much that is that they're giving up. I also understand that not everyone wants to travel (I don't know why anyone who doesn't want to travel would deal with the pay and QOL that this career offers).

Second if you take the CRJ the only movement will be forward. No one will be transitioning to it to push you down. If for instance you hold a line within a couple of months you'll likely always hold that line. On the E175 the only movement you're going to see is backwards. Once a Delta contract comes up, or once new west coast bases open that give CRJ guys a reason to bid over to it they will. You may hold a line your first month on the E175, then sit reserve for another year after that while you keep moving down.

Who knows. Maybe it won't work out that way. I'm senior to you though and the second the E175 gets delta benefits I'll bid it. Hundreds of other people senior to you will do the same. If a Delta contract does come up anytime soon you'll regret your decision not to take the CRJ.

Third, and this probably only matters if you plan to live in base, but the E175 has barely any short trips. You're going to do nothing but non-commutable 4 day trips while you're junior. The CRJ has a much better trip mix with locals, 2 days, and plenty of commutable 4 days. There are many more CRJs so the trip mix is better. That's another reason I haven't bid it yet. I live in base and like short trips.

Alaska vs Delta turf war is only beginning. If one would have said 175's in AS colors 1 year ago i would have laughed. Now there are 6 flying around. So another year... 30!!, Could happen. Alaska needs to free up

They're not officially free, but if you're crafty with google you can find plenty of Jepp charts out there to study. I was able to find the whole Jeppesen legend to study the symbols, and I also found nearly all of the charts for certain big airports. I think I had all of the charts for JFK, SFO, ORD and maybe one other. You can find them for free if you search around but they're not technically supposed to be free.

Er... The CRJ trip mix in my base was 80% 4 days this month, 75% next month...
