....and I wonder how many of them even have their upgrade bid set to 'ANY' domicile. In my domicile, virtually all of the senior FOs have their upgrade bid limited to that domicile. So it'll be a while.
I'm also amazed at how many very, very senior FOs we have. As in, guys with employee numbers in the 4 digits. These guys have to have been here for 15+ years and they're still FOs. I mean, I get that being the #1 FO in base makes life sweet, but...with those kind of employee numbers, you could become like the #3 captain in base right away. I don't get it....

I get it. How much is your quality of life worth to you? After three years, the extra $1000 a month after taxes to sit reserve as a Captain, and possibly commute for the pleasure of doing so... Not everyone is willing to sell their souls for that. Same reason plenty of people are remaining here rather than racing to UAL.

May as well get out when you can. Sooner or later regionals will be a tiny area of flying if they even exist at all. Then you'll be going to the bottom of a list that you could have moved to years ago. Regionals are purely waiting grounds until a proper job comes along. I am out as soon as I can. The more of you who stay behind waiting for things to get better, the better!

You are not even done with training and you are 3700 on the list. You have at least 3 years before upgrade if everything continues in the regional world.
If this wonderful shrinkage comes to light that you speak of you might just find yourself stuck in the right side of an RJ for a very long time.
The word at United is the 40 700's up for United are not getting renewed. With those 40 aircraft your seniority went way south. Just a thought....

The training department has seriously taken a step back lately.
Also heard that AQP will now be every 9 months instead of annually because of FAA safety concerns.

The 700 and the 175 are the same plane in the eyes of their scope clause correct? (76 seats to 50) so if we lose 700's we do have the possibility of getting 175s to replace them.

Yes, United is now scoped out on the amount of large RJs (70-76 seats) they can have, and the only way United can now add more E-175s is by reducing the amount of 70-seaters on a 1:1 swap.

That said I never have flown the 175.

I love how you make it sound like all of the regional pilots north of you on the senority list are just wasting their time because they are not already at a major.
