Anyone? Anyone?
Some #s on the 7th and 22nd pay periods would be appreciated as well for a 1st year F/O, with a focus on Take Home numbers.
What happens when?
--> On the 22nd is that this month's 1/2 your guarantee (38 hours)?
--> Is the 7th the other 38 hours from last month plus anything from last month over the 76 and per diem?
Some actual 1st year numbers would really go a long way as well as being very much appreciated. Thank You.

I myself would like to know actual numbers within the time you are training since you do not get the full 76 and I hear no perdiem

Take your guarantee hours in training I can't remember if it was 72 hours or 65 . I think 72 and split it in half x 30.00 That is what you will gross each pay period. I am not sure of your tax situation and deductions so I would guess you will be taking home around 900-1000 per pay period likely less. No per diem! Once you are done with training you go to the guarantee of 76 hours.
You only get per diem when flying and away from base TAFB. So if you are sitting on reserve for 2 months and not flying you will only get paid guarantee and no per diem.
Its like that will all the regionals you have to just budget for it and try to make it work for at least the 1st year, then the 2nd, 3rd, etc... Okay until you upgrade!
If you see another company raise its 1st year pay above Skywest you may see them raise theirs to the 36 per hour. however I don't think they are having a problem filling classes for now. So I wouldn't bank on that. Its all about seniority. If you are going to do it. Do it and get on the list.
If you get a line you can pickup trips and make more money than the guarantee. The flying picks up in the summer so you can fly more and it all depends on staffing and their needs.
If you are really interested in coming to Skywest it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the recruiting dept and ask those specific questions. I am limited on some of the questions you may have. There are a lot of companies and great advice on the boards on why to choose one regional over the other. Some are better and worse on different aspects However, I like the company and its management.

....and I wonder how many of them even have their upgrade bid set to 'ANY' domicile. In my domicile, virtually all of the senior FOs have their upgrade bid limited to that domicile. So it'll be a while.
I'm also amazed at how many very, very senior FOs we have. As in, guys with employee numbers in the 4 digits. These guys have to have been here for 15+ years and they're still FOs. I mean, I get that being the #1 FO in base makes life sweet, but...with those kind of employee numbers, you could become like the #3 captain in base right away. I don't get it....

Number 3 in IAH, in the bottom half of the list in others.

Are you trolling or something? We have zero FOs with 4 digit employee numbers. The most senior FO at the entire company has employee number 10175.
Also have you looked at the seniority list for SLC? Most of the super super senior FOs are based in SLC. If the most senior FO in SLC (#299 at the entire company) upgraded to SLC (captains are never awarded transfers into SLC) then he would be bidding #124 in SLC. No where near #3. If they don't need the income and never plan to leave Skywest then I kind of understand why they wouldn't want to take that kind of seniority hit.
I've seen two captains transfer into SLC the entire time I've been at the company. It hardly ever happens so those senior FOs would be forced to upgrade somewhere else and commute.

I Fly with a 4 digit FO all the time.
Perhaps this isn't unique to Skywest, but when you see 12+ year FOs wandering around the property, you kind of wonder what's going on.

Nearly all of the FOs I fly with have the seniority to upgrade. No one wants to commute to msp/ord though.
QOL. They like being in top 1% in their base, and can afford FO pay due to retirement rom previous career, sugar momma, etc.
Or they have another job which pays better than regional CA and they need control of their schedule to attend said job.
Supposedly there are a few who are "blacklisted" from upgrade, presumably for good reason.

Also, instructors lose their instructor position if they upgrade so there are a few SLC FO's who would rather stay in SLC as an instructor than upgrade and lose their instructor position and change bases.

Staffing. People don't like to work at Skywest they want to credit like 75 hrs and be at home more. So everyone is complaining.
The reserve rules are really basic. 3 types reserve shortcall vs long call vs ready. Ready is like a 30 minute call time but you can only be on ready for 4 hrs or something like that, shortcall is 2 hr call out in shifts of 12 hrs. 4am to 4pm or 9 to 9. Then long call is a 12 hr call out available 24hrs a day for 4 days at a time.
At the end of your shift you're done. You don't have to call in for release like at some airlines. There is very little variables. You have your schedule of when your on call and when your not. It doesn't change (for the most part, long call can be changed a few times a month)
But really people just don't like being on call.

I don't mean to come at you, but this is the problem we have when there is a lot of hiring and people don't sit reserve for very long. And this is the reason that management can keep pushing off the reserve re-write. If we had reserve proffering, everyone's QOL would be so much better but we don't make it a priority. When we have our own pilots spewing the crap that AS and JO throw out, we will never see any gains.
In summary to the original question. Our reserve rules have went downhill because SGU is so afraid that we may pay someone 76 hours and they will only work 72. So SGU spends countless man hours in CS to bleed every minute out of our reserve pilots. It doesn't matter how demoralizing it is, because everyone needs to pay their dues.
