Believe the class has 78. It's still a huge class. The August class had 50 with 3 who washed out.

Looks like guys and girls with a February - March DOH are a third of the way up the FO list. At that rate they'll just be over their 1000 hours part 121 in time for the upgrade if this continues.

Disclaimer - I know there are many factors that affect upgrade time, and nobody seems to come to SkyWest for a "quick upgrade", but just wanted to share an observation I made.

Movement slows as u get further up the list. Hard to see it dropping lower than 3 years

I'm not sure where you got your numbers but as I recall there were around 10 people that washed out in August and it appears about 8, possibly 11, washed out in September. Going back to a high 49K employee number had been here a little over 3 months, it seems unlikely that they went to other employment.

Talking with a friend that is a manager in the training department, he said about 10-12% aren't making it and he expects that number to go up. SkyWest is no longer going to extremes to get people through, too expensive. Basically the pilot pool is drying up, his words.

I would say there not going to extremes... They are following policy.. Up to 8hrs extra training. And after that evaluating whats best for the student and SkyWest...

What is it that these guys are not able to do that has them washing out? Are they washing out in ground school or the sim? I have 3 types in corporate jets, and I have never been worried about not making it. I studied and was there to learn. Now I am not Chuck Yeager, but I am wondering what it is these guys hare having so much trouble with. Thanks.

It's mostly sims. Some guys struggle in ground but still make it through, and some are struggling on IOE but it's mostly sims.
