I know a guy who just left a part 135 company early for Skywest, and Skywest agreed to pay 1/3rd of his fee for leaving the contract early.

I heard they have done this with some GLA folks.

Is skywest hiring for the FAT base? Is it a Jr base? What planes and how are the lines there?

They don't hire for a base. You get to bid on domiciles and go where there are openings and your seniority can hold. FAT is a CRJ base. Nearly everyone starts off in MSP or ORD and changes domiciles as their seniority allows.

Hardly anyone wants to be based in FAT so you could probably get there pretty quick. It's a small base though, only 30-40 crews.

I see what you mean....how realistic is FAT after ORD or MSP? Thanks!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I was just curious about a/c assignments: I have time and type in E 175 and saw that Skywest was giving out bonuses for those currently qualified on the embraer and crj. Does that mean I could expect to be placed in the E175 for initial training, or is it need/staffing based? Obviously, I'd prefer to stick with what I know since I'm old and lazy.

Thanks.
