What a waste of our money. Pretty selfish of them.

I don't blame them either, I also wouldn't blame Skyw if they started passing on these guys.

Don't hate da playa, hate da game....

With that being said I've always scratched my head at SKW's decision to hire the guys who are a 121 type rating away from a DL call. They were even doing this a few years ago. Between washouts and mil-guys bolting before IOE is done they're tossing tons of cash out the window. I guess it shows how desperate things really are.

Using that logic you Skywest would pass on all military guys? That's a pretty big group of well trained guys to pass on...

There are plenty of military guys who haven't gotten a call from the majors for whatever reason (my buddy just bombed the B.S. hogan test united gives).

I'm military and starting training in Oct. I'm grateful for the opportunity and we
Will see how things go.

This is exactly right, while a retired military pilot may not retire from SkyW they do a good job when they are here.

The chief pilot in MSP is a retired military pilot.

You might not know it, but the *CPs* at the majors have actually told the mil guys they need to start at the regionals. It's not like the OO management doesn't know this.
I would think this is good biz for OO because they can say they send xx number of pilots to the majors.
Not to mention, many mil pilots bring their vast experience and professionalism to the flight deck and to the company - which isn't a bad thing.
