The first 175 base at Horizon would definitely be PDX, and as the 175 fleet would expand when the Q's park I have a hard time thinking AAG wouldn't want to have Horizon do all the PDX flying to get mx touches on the airplanes. No doubt you guys will still be flying 175's for Alaska, but wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't PDX flying long-term.

I recently interviewed and was told that upgrade times are right around 3-1/2 years but expected to go down to around 2-1/2. Sound right?

Thank you, Trip! There seems to be an adrenaline-junkie connection between LEO's & aviation, a number of my coworkers caught the obsession too & I always enjoy CFI-ing them

It's steady around 4 years, but there are a few people who have bypassed so it could go senior at any time.

Who knows, and like you said, that's a few years out at the earliest anyway.
flying airplanes on short routes to outstation mx is part of SKYW business plan. Cos-Den. All the Chicagoland mx, tuc-phx, psp-lax. Building boi fits right in line.

Upgrade classes would have to be huge in the near future to make that happen, not that is wont but it ist the smallest likelyhood. Like 50 upgrades a month for the next year big. Lots of big classes were hired in 2011.

Upgrade is just under 4 years and management keeps telling us it's going to drop to 2 and 1/2. But that would be extreme it's more likely going to get down to 3 years maybe by March or April but I don't think it will get below that.

A few.. nearly 500 FOs have bypassed. Most are waiting until they can hold a line, go to class after the holidays, etc. And a bunch refuse to move/commute to MSP.

That's just a flat out lie. There are no 3.5 year captains. I'm over 3.5 years and I'm not even close to upgrade. I'd say I still have at least 3 or 4 months to go to hold the most junior base assuming they keep running classes which could stop at any time. They stopped upgrading for 2 months in Sept and Oct. The November class went very senior. No one under 4 years was awarded upgrade for the November class. The upgrade time has actually been INCREASING for most of the fall, not decreasing.
