The double time express had finally "officially" made a stop in CRJ land, at least until the 6th.

There were multiple willing to help with a flight last night for 200%, and screw support laughed at us. Both flights out last night were cancelled along with the ones back to base this morning.

Reserves? SkyWest doesn't know what reserves are, unless you were a Brasilia pilot this summer in SFO...
SkyWest chooses to operate with little to no reserve staffing, and then screws and reflows everyone and their mother to try and cover a flight.

One of my CA friends text'ed me saying his FO called out EMER last minute, reserves were gone. I called and volunteered myself... for 2x time, they gave me the run around. The CA text'ed me and said a reserve FO was willing to come in on his day off for straight time in exchange for a different day off. I assume things like this are why it's taken so long for the company to open up to the double trouble. All they have to do is call some poor reserve who hasn't seen a weekend day off in 6 months and they're more than happy to comply.

I think we should get 1 1/2 time or double time for every day at the beginning of the month that is below reserve minimum. If anything, it would prevent the abuse of just raising it to whatever number they feel like. (I know, I know... Like everything else we have no way to enforce this. Just dreaming)
I saw an interesting theory that they raise the number to deny drops and make people call in to burn user time. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if this was the case. Lots of people paying money for people to pick up their trips. Screw that. I will just call in. Used to care about reliability and being a good employee. But when they keep changing the rules, you stop worrying about it. Obviously, I am a minority and still lots of people out there that want to "help out"

New Guy question. So I just finished IOE a few days ago, Sked+ showed the rest of the month of Dec blocked off as NJM. My bid for Jan has me sitting PM reserve starting on Jan 1.
So, I logged into SWOL this afternoon, and they just added two days of reserve to my schedule for tomorrow and the next day. No phone call, no advance notice whatsoever. Are they allowed to do this?
I just saw this a few hours ago, and needless to day, I'm not currently in my domicile, and won't be able to get back in domicile by 9am tomorrow to sit reserve. What's the deal with this? I didn't acknowledge the schedule change on SWOL. Do I have any recourse with this? or am I screwed if they call me for a trip tomorrow?
