now you fly something TOTALLY different.

SFO-MRY
MRY-SFO
SFO-SMF
SMF-SFO

or whatever. usually reflows end up adding more credit and more duty. that's the beauty of our "duty rig" is that it's only for PLANNED duty.

so today was a planned 10 hour duty day? great! 5 hour min credit!

oh wait, you got reflowed and extended and worked 13 hours? still 5 hour min (or actual block/credit whatever is greater)

oh, they didn't have to extend you because last leg was a DH and thus not FDP? oh, maybe you just worked a 19 hour LEGAL day. well, no duty rig for you, it was only planned for 10 hours.

(yes a 19 hour day can be 100% legal and I have PERSONALLY seen it happen to my roommate just 2 weeks ago)

That's it. It's people's lives and families thet they're callously messing with. Young single childless folks may enjoy bending over and grabbing their buns for the company but when you have kids involved it's all different. ESPECIALLY when they're doing it not for any good reason but rather out of pure disorganization (no actual malice that I've observed, unlike some other regionals).

This is truth...read and heed. The current crop of noobs is going to get their kool-aid antidote faster than usual.

Hold on its gonna be a wild ride, and not having a CBA is gonna make it real interesting.
I'll be surprised if the "no junior man" policy survives next summer. I've about concluded that I'm going to have to watch this one from a safe distance...the right seat of a boeing or a bus.

I feel forced reserve is coming my way this summer if I want to get paid.

Limber up, make sure you can comfortably grab your ankles, junior guys will get it the worst. "Forced reserve" will be the least of your problems.....

I've been here about four years, and believe me it isn't perfect. But it's been A LOT better than I thought it would be, having been in your shoes and seen the forum whining before coming here. Just remember, the biggest complainers are drawn to the forums. The rest of us are out on our days off enjoying life...

Welcome aboard, and if there's anything I can do to help, please send me a PM. Happy Holidays!

Was wondering when you were gonna come out from under the Kool-aid machine and spew your particular flavor of the heady brew. You don't get it, and most likely won't until the special treatment comes your way. The last 5 years have been relatively stable and that's your baseline new guy. I am going to go fly that CN 4day that I didn't know how to bid to avoid, 11 days off, 101 credit and 97 block. ERJ guys transitioning and SS does what they need to do. Don't worry sunshine, when your domicile starts transitioning you will get your turn in the barrel.

Nowhere yet, but I'm going to have to get off my butt and get it done this year.
