How??!! Completely serious question.

I am not sure why Rickair's posts create so much umbrage so many times. That seemed like a matter of fact reality of this industry, not pointed at any one person.

That's old school thinking, while SKYW is about as far behind the curve as any other regional/airline even they can see PRIA requests vs resumes. Even the dimmest bulb on the tree can do that Labrador Retriever math. While they may hate paying the 18 year guy his hourly, it's vastly cheaper than parking planes due to staffing.

They can't even keep up with training the 40 or so a month now. There is no way they are ever going to find 100 new hires in any month.

Just wondering if there's any back log or delays in training? Seems like ground school to sims there a month or so delay. What about Checkride to IOE?
Any idea how long training will take from start of ground school until IOE?
Also do you get your full 75 hour guarantee during this time, or is it only 60?
Thanks!

The rest of your questions I don't have answers to.

But mainline will give the flying away to cheaper operators employing low-longevity pilots. As mainline hiring picks up, there will be fairly continuous turnover at the bottom feeders. In order to win (or keep) contracts SKW will have to cut pay for the 18-year guys...voluntarily or otherwise. I could easily see a 12/4 scale within two years.
The only good news...the majors are hiring, if you're qualified.

It's sad how folks can make up data on the internet and someone might actually believe them. There were 2 tragic suicides in the 2003-2005 time frame when some folks went from $225 an hour to $90 an hour, and as a percentage of total UAL pilot population that rate was higher than the national average. Your comment implies that the problem still exists. It does not. Why would you make a comment like that?

Are there any updates in the works with regard to the pay packages and work rule agreement that was made February 2014? I remember seeing that agreement was good for one year.

The latest update is the company is gonna issue a crap EFB that no one wants, and the pilots are financially responsible for them. If you leave within 24 months you have to pay the company back a prorated portion for the EFB back. If it just quits after a year you have to go buy yourself a new one.
