Here are the overall numbers for the past 6 months (Aug-Jan) I don't really trust the numbers the company puts out so I have been keeping my own
Aug - 23 Total (12 Capt, 11 FO) 3356 Total pilots
Sep - 26 Total (14 Capt, 12 FO) 3366 Total pilots
Oct - 37 Total (21 Capt, 16 FO) 3398 Total pilots
Nov - 28 Total (18 Capt, 10 FO) 3398 Total pilots
Dec - 25 Total (17 Capt, 8 FO) 3411 Total pilots
Jan - 27 Total (14 Capt, 13 FO) 3433 Total pilots
So in August we had 3,335 pilots and currently we have 3,433 so 98 more pilots on property. We lost 166 over that span, so I would assume we have averaged hiring about 44 per month?? Some of these could be cadets that are on the seniority list but not on property.
Also, some interesting number of which group is leaving. These numbers are based on their number at the time they left.
Under 1K - 31 total (All CA, including a top 10 line flying pilot)
1,000 - 2,000 - 70 (Mostly CA, Some senior FO's)
2,000 - 3,000 - 41 (Some Jr CA, Mostly FO's)
3,000 and up - 22 (FO's)
My assumption is that 3,000 and up group realized that SkyWest has become just another regional and they were looking at a 6 year upgrade. Maybe they enjoyed that brief bump in pay on the Bro, but then realized what that vote cost this pilot group and bailed.

When you say "top 10 line flying pilot", do you mean actually in the top 10 overall on the entire list, and did they go to another airline or retire?

I think 117 had a big impact, but also concur that Anita is leaving a LOT of efficiency on the table due to pure laziness/narrow-mindedness/incompetence in CS. They DESPERATELY need to upgrade to windows 98 and pentium processors
One of our small bases had a incident recently where apparently a new-hire CS person was assigned the task of building pairings for the next month. She was apparently a bit obtuse and not supervised well, and since it required more work and mental horsepower to figure out overnights, she built an entire month using only locals with no or almost no multiday trips (possible since this was a satellite base, not a hub). Nobody noticed until it was too late...lot of peed-off commuters blew half their paychecks on hotels that month.

They are exaggerating the impact from 117, friends of mine at Horizon have seen their trips improve under 117.

Anyone know how to tell how big the upgrade class will be from the DVR? I can't seem to figure it out ever.

You can't ever tell from the DVR, but the last Insight in TG's section said they would be running upgrade classes of 36 per month.

Top 10 in his domicile but double digit employee number. Probably here around 30+ years. No word from the company or reps, but could be by request from the individual. Most likely a retire.

Top 10 anywhere east of Denver isn't saying much.
I only know of one pilot with over 20 years that has done an interview somewhere else. Anyone else with that much time here has been retiring. And we've had a few of those lately.
